my [long] weekend in photos

friday night we headed down to grammy’s house after work.
we pulled into town right as the sun was setting over the water,
what a great way to start the long weekend.

having a snack outside in our swim suits.
still envious this suit doesn’t come in my size. i can’t get enough of it.

after our snack it was time to take the boat out.

heading out into the blue water. amazing.

after nap time, we headed down to the beach.
we have approximately 24 cloth diapers at home that double as swim diapers…
and we didn’t even pack one on the trip. #fail

regardless, we had fun playing in the ocean.

i enjoyed my zero proof cucumber ginger jasmine-tini at dinner saturday night.
it probably wasn’t as good as a real martini, but it was sure yummy.

sunday we headed to the rays / yankees game in probably the sickest seats we’ve ever sat in.

kenley loved that the seats were all-you-can-eat too. and she did!

i didn’t mind seeing evan longria that close.

sporting her new rays watch too.

after the game, we headed out on the boat one more time.

once we got back into town, we headed over to the jenkinson’s for a memorial day cookout.
the girls had fun being silly.

in true memorial day fashion, kenley loved the corn on the cob!

we had a great long weekend away and enjoyed our extra day off.
today we remember and thank those who have served our country so we could have such a great weekend.

happy saturday morning from the walking towel dog.

after debating for a while about getting our front landscaping done, we finally bit the bullet.

holy cow, we are so excited. i’m too embarrassed to show you what it looked like before, but you can imagine the hot mess.

while work was being done on the outside, i was doing work on the inside.
i am thrilled that our never ending laundry room projects are finally done!

i was literally craving iced coffee all day on saturday. i finally made some around 7pm.
it was worth the wait.

she loved wearing my cozy socks.

someone loved the mother’s day card i got from daddy. we danced a lot this morning.

i will spare you photos of my wonderful food today, but every single meal i had was delicious.
kenley was in shock of our milkshake, but obviously loved it. how could she not? look at that thing!

if she could be outside all day long, she definitely would.

our only attempt at a picture today, i’ll take it.

we had a great, relaxing weekend, napping whenever kenley decided to take a nap,
and not worrying about doing anything.
i had a wonderful mother’s day with my two favorite people.

we had visitors this weekend! maggi & greg were here from pittsburgh!

we hit up friendly confines friday night for some good food and the pens game.

saturday included pedis with the girls.

and some serious party decorating.

so happy to have this girl here.

mango margaritas to celebrate cinco de mayo! virgin for me, lots of tequila for everyone else.

kenley loved cinco de mayo and all the chips that were involved.

this is what our sunday morning consisted of.
she pulled out every single pant, short, and skirt, tried to put it on, then threw it.
why do i feel this is a prelude for 15 years from now.

part one: we made some improvements to our laundry room! i’m hoping to get it finished next weekend & share soon.
part two: freshly stripped diapers. so fresh and so clean.

enjoying time with meemaw and gee-paw before they departed on their second leg of spring break.

brunch at keke’s. yum yum yum.

alone time at target. it never gets old. never. ever.

lots of march madness. and i’m ok with that.
although, it would have been more fun watching the hoosiers this weekend :: sigh ::

Happy Valentine’s Day!

We don’t need a holiday to make us think about how much can change in one year,
but looking back at our little valentine last year really does remind us.

Our big girl valentine this year…

Last year, Kenley had just started in her new class after switching daycare providers,
so you can imagine my surprise when she came home with valentines from her classmates.
She is very excited to pass out valentines to her friends this year.

There are so many adorable (non-candy related) toddler valentines on Pinterest,
but as soon as I stumbled upon this idea, I stopped looking any further.
Kenley loves these little fruit pouches, so I knew they would be perfect for her friends.
I made the cards in Publisher with this fun font.
I went with an ombre effect in red and pink for the font color and loved how it turned out.
They were quick and easy, always a big win for a working mom on the go!

I had all these great ideas for decorating for Valentine’s Day this year
and I didn’t do one of them, not a single one.
I’m going to brush it off and try to get ahead by moving right along to Easter,
or maybe just forget holidays all together and decorate for spring.

We were able to do a couple fun food-related Valentine’s Day treats.

Cookies for co-workers!

Heart shaped ham & cheese for a little girl’s lunch.

Pink, heart-shaped pancakes made with love for his girls.

Finally, Kenley got a Cupig from Great Grandma & Pa, she LOVED it!
Here is a glimpse… I think she played it at least 10 times after she opened it.

Now that song will be stuck in your head for days…

my christmas vacation in photos

since i haven’t had the slightest idea what day it has been for the last week,
i figured this would be a good way to recap our christmas vacation.
have no fear, the my weekend in photos series will continue next year.

first happy meal at the airport!

we headed to indiana in the middle of a snow storm after an hour and a half delay.
overall, kenley was so so good. and slept in the most awkward position on the flight.

she was slightly confused to find a dog when she woke up the next morning.

trying to stay warm with temperatures in the high 20s.

we were able to meet brittney, patrick & will for lunch!
brittney and i have been friends since birth, so it was fun to see our babies together.
it was also will’s first birthday!

katie & ashton were able to come play too!

kenley and ashton are about three weeks apart,
and played together so nicely.

it was fun to watch kenley open presents even though she wasn’t entirely sure what was going on.

we were so thankful that the peña’s braved the weather to come down to visit.
kp, jack & kenley… nothing but trouble!

besties.

cozy on the couch, all snuggled up, home for the holidays.

reading my christmas gift on the way to the airport that inspired us to get to work when we got home.

more christmas presents once we got home to florida!

kenley and kyler have been enjoying christmas break.

a trip to homegoods means lunch at which wich! so happy about both.

and an ikea trip means frozen yogurt!

four days worth of clean diapers and one cute helper.

we had a wonderful trip to indiana and a great christmas,
and have enjoyed the extra days off to do several house projects,
which i am anxious to share!

our weekend started on wednesday.

it was moving day! yes, that truck looks bigger than our house,
yet it still took two trips to the new house.

greg drank is coffee out of a measuring cup,
while i opted for panera coffee when i stopped to get bagels.

luckily, i got to be the one who unpacked and organized,
while the men did all the heavy lifting.
i thought i was making real progress, until the second load of stuff came over.

then, it looked like this by nightfall.

thanksgiving morning, kenley and i had to run to walmart for diapers and milk.
priorities here, people.
shockingly, the place was packed!

we spent most of the day organizing and getting more stuff from the other house.
thank goodness starbucks was open.
it, too, was packed.

it finally started to feel like thanksgiving around 5pm.
fried turkey is seriously the best. hands down.

kenley agrees.

we enjoyed thanksgiving dinner, just the three of us.
it was kenley’s first real thanksgiving dinner & she is a fan.

after taking almost the entire week off from running, unintentionally,
kenley and i went out for my last saturday run before race day. (yikes).

the rest of the weekend has been unpacking and organizing,
and of course, christmas decorating.

we had a wonderful, hectic, busy, thankful holiday weekend,
and are so happy to be (almost all the way) moved into our new house.

Happy Halloween!

It’s hard to believe how much has changed from one Halloween to the next.

Our little pumpkin, just 12 days old.

Our little strawberry who is one!

We headed to the pumpkin patch a couple weekends ago to really soak in the fall fun.

Do you love how Greg is in shorts and I’m rocking the boots?
It just didn’t feel right wearing flip flops to the pumpkin patch.

We were able to get the girls all dressed up in their Halloween outfits this past weekend
before we headed out to the Halloween celebration in our community.
