my weekend in photos

i was flying solo most of the weekend while greg worked.
actually, the last five nights i have been sans husband, which has been tough.
mad props to those parents/spouses who travel or stay home alone most of the week.
god bless your little hearts.

kenley had a doctor’s appointment late afternoon friday, which put us home a tad early.
which meant, more time for a wagon ride before dinner!
no matter how many times i told her that that was “mommy’s water” she *had* to hold it.

we stopped by kyler’s house for a little piano playing action.

saturday morning i took pictures at our friends’ son’s soccer game. a team full of 3-5 year olds.
we got a glimpse into our future in a couple years. sheer chaos i tell you.

i was about ready to kill the fed ex guy who obnoxiously rang the doorbell as soon as kenley was asleep,
then i saw what he brought and i forgave him.
yes, i have my snacks delivered to my door. amazon prime for the win.

thanks to the jenkinsons who set up the fun waterpark in their backyard,
the girls got to beat the heat on saturday… which felt like the hottest day of my life.

kenley and i visited daddy at work and watched some of the cirque du soleil show quidam.
we didn’t get to stay for the whole thing due to an antsy girl, but what we saw was good.

since my husband wasn’t home to feed me dinner, our sweet friends stepped in.
kenley had fun playing with charlie and margot too!

between fighting nap time and some teething tantrums today,
kenley loooooved playing with her new baby and stroller.
i have a feeling she’ll be a great big sister…minus chucking the baby across the room.

we are so so so happy to have daddy back this week at a decent hour
and are anxiously waiting a much needed, long weekend getaway coming at the end of the week.

happy saturday morning from the walking towel dog.

after debating for a while about getting our front landscaping done, we finally bit the bullet.

holy cow, we are so excited. i’m too embarrassed to show you what it looked like before, but you can imagine the hot mess.

while work was being done on the outside, i was doing work on the inside.
i am thrilled that our never ending laundry room projects are finally done!

i was literally craving iced coffee all day on saturday. i finally made some around 7pm.
it was worth the wait.

she loved wearing my cozy socks.

someone loved the mother’s day card i got from daddy. we danced a lot this morning.

i will spare you photos of my wonderful food today, but every single meal i had was delicious.
kenley was in shock of our milkshake, but obviously loved it. how could she not? look at that thing!

if she could be outside all day long, she definitely would.

our only attempt at a picture today, i’ll take it.

we had a great, relaxing weekend, napping whenever kenley decided to take a nap,
and not worrying about doing anything.
i had a wonderful mother’s day with my two favorite people.

greg met his bro up in the dc area this weekend to visit the fam.
the gilbertson men reunited.

saturday morning, kenley and i really tried hard to make it downtown in time for the march of dimes walk,
but since they decided to start early we just missed the start.
regardless, we represented jack’s pack while the fam was walking back in indiana.
we had our own little walk around lake eola and played at the park,
we weren’t going to let the beautiful morning go to waste.

first nap in the big girl bed looked like this.
she fell asleep as soon as she got back into bed, thankfully.

greg and the boys hit up the nationals / reds game at nationals park.

we hit up the splash pad for the first time this summer,
and kenley loved it. i foresee a lot of splash pad in our future.

having fun in the wa-wa

i saw on pinterest this week to put tea bags into your toms to make them less stinky.
the pin didn’t have a link attached to it, so i was skeptical, but let me tell you…
worked like a charm! i’ve worn a hole in my toms i’ve worn them so much and
they now don’t smell at all…other than a little like apple cinnamon tea.

we had a good weekend, but we are happy to have daddy home.
but, he had a wonderful time with the fam.

this is what our friday night consisted of, much like the rest of america, i’m sure.
as soon as kenley went to bed, we sat ourselves in front of the tv, computer, twitter screens,
watching the events unfold. much love to the people of boston and watertown.

saturday morning began bright and early at ikea.
i’m happy to report the piggy-tails lasted the entire trip!

errands continued saturday. this is what happens when you have a crappy cart,
and are shopping alone with an 18 month old…just have it. ha.

we headed to sea world sunday morning for the first time!

we chose not to touch the sting rays this time.

she loved the dolphins!

after being on the wait list for five days, i got my mailbox on friday morning!
#nerd

trying to embrace the camera more. being silly on friday night.

after running some much needed errands on saturday, we went for a walk.
she really did enjoy it. and the shades lasted a whole three minutes.

we ended up doing so many house projects this weekend.
i’m excited to share them soon.

i understand it may have snowed in some parts over the weekend,
but we were reminded that summer is just around the corner. it was hot.
but, we played outside anyway.

friday lunch at the new lazy moon! it’s back and better than ever.

friday night these ladies and i had a long overdue dinner date.

she’s ready to take a trip. where we going?

kenley loved having meemaw and grandpa back for their last leg of spring break.

we loved it too!

i mean, let’s be serious, how cute are they?

our community had a block party saturday night, which was super fun.

rice for dinner. just saving some for later.

kyler and kenley had a great time riding around together.

i said smile, and she actually did. this was a proud moment for me.

part one: we made some improvements to our laundry room! i’m hoping to get it finished next weekend & share soon.
part two: freshly stripped diapers. so fresh and so clean.

enjoying time with meemaw and gee-paw before they departed on their second leg of spring break.

brunch at keke’s. yum yum yum.

alone time at target. it never gets old. never. ever.

lots of march madness. and i’m ok with that.
although, it would have been more fun watching the hoosiers this weekend :: sigh ::

have no fear, we’re still here. we took a vacation day today to extend our weekend.

we had no ice at lunch on friday, but how could you be upset with a sign like this?

a couple rough days of teething & drooling meant lots of laundry by friday.
that’s a total of 14 outfits in six days.

greg went to a concert friday night, so i enjoyed some march madness & sewing.

saturday morning, i helped out sally {sally sarah designs} at a craft show.
how adorable is her table?

jessie + andrew got married!

we had a wonderful night away enjoying adult conversation & time together.

you can’t argue with drinking out of a mason jar.

the entire evening was absolutely beautiful and filled with love!
we had such a good time celebrating the happy couple
(who i failed to get a picture of because my phone died).
