See our Easter one year ago.
have no fear, we’re still here. we took a vacation day today to extend our weekend.
we had no ice at lunch on friday, but how could you be upset with a sign like this?
a couple rough days of teething & drooling meant lots of laundry by friday.
that’s a total of 14 outfits in six days.
greg went to a concert friday night, so i enjoyed some march madness & sewing.
saturday morning, i helped out sally {sally sarah designs} at a craft show.
how adorable is her table?
jessie + andrew got married!
we had a wonderful night away enjoying adult conversation & time together.
you can’t argue with drinking out of a mason jar.
the entire evening was absolutely beautiful and filled with love!
we had such a good time celebrating the happy couple
(who i failed to get a picture of because my phone died).
holly hoosier helped us cheer on the hoosiers to victory sunday!
not without a couple heart attacks in the process though.
we enjoyed our extra day off at the braves/mets spring training game at disney.
kenley loved the game & cheered every time something happened.
let’s go mets!
great entertainment.
we’ve been very happy to have meemaw here.

we had a fun weekend and are looking forward to a fun spring break week ahead!
back to the real world tomorrow though.
how was your weekend?
How it is March 19th already, I don’t know. This month’s post really snuck up on us.
It’s been crazy busy, in a good way, here in the Gilbertson household,
and the rest of March isn’t slowing down.
Kenley is changing every single day. It seems like each day she says 10 new words.
I know that’s not really the case, but she is full out repeating anything and everything,
so be careful what you say around her.
The last word of most of our sentences is repeated (or attempted to be repeated).
She still loves talking about her friends each day and her teachers say that she goes around the room pointing to each of them, saying their names aloud.
Likewise, she points to Mommy, Daddy, and Kenley a lot at home, reminding each of us who we are.
The girl really just loves to talk, I wonder who she gets that from?
You would be able to understand most of her words, but there are still some that we can probably only understand.
She is starting to recite some lines of her favorite books, which may be a clue to us to get some new books.
Her favorite book right now is Goodnight Gorilla.
She woke up this weekend saying “gorilla” and we read it twice before breakfast.
On a typical night, we’ll read 7-10 books before bed, and during the weekend days, add in about 10 more.
She loves to read!
Some of her other favorite things right now are CUPS!
She has stackable cups that she has scattered all over her room and in the bath;
there are cups that go with her play kitchen;
and she loves to pull out all the (clean) cups out of the dishwasher.
I am happy to report that dinner time is getting somewhat easier.
We are still eating dinner together earlier in the evening and it’s going very well,
other than the fact that I haven’t gotten on the ball with running yet.
There was an entire week this month where Kenley scarfed down everything we put in front of her.
From spaghetti to shrimp & grilled peppers, she ate it all without one complaint.
She has since put up a fight about a meal here or there, but she eventually gives in if she’s hungry enough.
There was another night where Greg made her homemade pizza on an English muffin,
but she ate two servings of peas and didn’t take one bite of pizza.
We can’t really complain about that.
Kenley still has those 12 teethers in there, but we have been working on some new ones this weekend.
I wish I could explain the amount of drool happening over here.
We’re practically swimming in it.
Poor girl was not a happy camper the past couple of days.
Let’s hope they come in quickly!
Finally, I’ll leave you with some silliness.
Happy 17 months!
friday lunch at bdubbs for the iu-illinois game. at least we got one win this weekend.
alicia & kenley chillin’
i had to bribe her with food, but it was worth it, for the whole five minutes she left them in.
ryan rocking his sweet hoodie and kenley rocking her sweet pigtails.
sweet frog for dessert. mango frozen yogurt topped with fruit. yummy.
saturday we had a great lunch date at the park with benjamin. they had a great time, but wore out quickly!
sunday we took a bike ride to get lunch. it was gorgeous!
love them.
one of our latest craiglist finds. fun with the sand.

we had a wonderful weekend with little plans, which was awesome.
how was your weekend?
i failed to even pick up my real camera this weekend, so here’s to hoping for next weekend…
we are really getting into downton abbey, and finished season 1 on friday night.
saturday, we moved right onto season 2.
this little one is really starting to get the hang of cooking,
especially after watching daddy cook in the real kitchen.
we tried out pigtails this weekend! they didn’t last long,
but they sure are cute!
we have another visitor, alicia is visiting from louisville.
climbing the stairs together. they are besties.
we had some friends over for dinner tonight; and will be seeing a lot more of them this week!
yay for visitors!

overall, we had a pretty low key weekend, which was fine with us.
how was your weekend?
ready for a friday evening bike ride
she can get down the stairs all by herself now…
working on my last february quilt block… since it’s now march.
i’ll be sharing my progress so far, hopefully soon!
our kitchen update prompted us to get on the ball again with replacing our door handles,
one by one, little by little.
obviously, the new and improved pantry definitely needed a new one.
how can you pass up this guy for $2 on amazon?
kenley and i headed to the arena sunday to see disney live! since greg was working.
we had great seats… perks of the job. and kenley loved it!
oh you know, just some mermaids rocking out to single ladies.
kenley, who doesn’t sit still for anything, sat through the entire show.
she was mesmerized and loved seeing mickey & minnie. after every song she said “more”.
after the show, we headed down to see lisa, who is here for work.
we had a great time catching up and had dinner at bahama breeze. yum!

i’ve been horrible about taking pictures only with my phone,
so next weekend i’m going to grace you with some actual camera photos.
