Four months old! Where is time going?
// onesie – gap // jeggings //
Little man is still very chill most of the time, but is starting to develop his own little personality.
He is smiling and cooing more, but most of the time he’s just taking it all in.
Let’s break it down…
Eating
He’s eating five times a day, roughly every three hours between 6:30am and 7:00pm.
At school, he drinks three 6.5 ounce bottles.
We are still loving our Tommee Tippee bottles.
He really only has a bottle at school unless mama needs to go somewhere.
I am not hating pumping as much this time around,
partly because it is 30 minutes of alone time I get to myself. Sad, I know.
I also have an obscene amount of milk in the freezer already, so it helps to see the fruits of my labor.
We probably won’t be starting solids until closer to six months like we did with Kenley,
but our doctor did suggest starting earlier if he keeps waking in the night (see below).
We’ll see!
Sleeping
Crosby has regressed just a little bit in the sleep department.
He usually goes down between 7:15-7:30pm and will get up around 6:30am.
However, the time in between is hit or miss. We are frequently going in to put the paci back in his mouth.
We are also in the process of getting rid of the swaddle. I am really kind of sad about this.
He slept SO well being swaddled up until this point.
I am hoping that once he starts rolling over, he will start sleeping on his tummy and get more comfortable.
He tosses and turns a lot now and eventually ends up on his side.
But, then the paci falls out, and we’re back to square one.
We’ll get there.
He doesn’t really have a set nap schedule yet and I am okay with that.
He will take a short snooze on the way to school and usually on the way home,
then maybe three naps during the day.
We are still enjoying and taking advantage of the fact that he’ll sleep in the car seat.
Playing
He is getting so much better with tummy time! Obviously, being able to hold his head up helps.
During tummy time, he’ll roll from his tummy to back.
He can get from his back to his side by hiking up his legs to his chest, but that’s about as far as we are now.
He intentionally grabs at toys or my necklace to play with.
We’ve been utilizing the high chair for a couple weeks now.
It reclines, so it’s perfect for him to sit in during dinner, even though he would much rather be held!
Long gone are the days of a curled up baby, he loves having his legs straight.
If you try to get him to sit (on your lap), he’ll straighten right up.
