19 Months

Little man is 19 months old!

19 Months

There really hasn’t been much to note this month. It seems like this month has absolutely flown by. Crosby should be finishing up with swim this week (or early next week), which is wonderful. He’s been doing a good job and is a real trooper. We are looking forward to watching him in action this summer in the pool and also looking forward to having our Monday through Thursday evenings back again.

It seems like Crosby is always sporting a bump or a bruise somewhere. Over the last week or so, he has had a nice little bruise on his cheek that could easily be mistaken for dirt. He’s still a climbing machine and I wish we had a dollar for every time we said “feet on the floor”. The kids love to climb over the Anywhere Chairs and onto the couch and Crosby likes to free fall face first onto the couch. I swear the boy has no fear. He runs full speed ahead at all times which usually makes you cringe.

IMG_3646

He is doing very well with his words, mostly thanks to Kenley who loves to play “Crosby, say…” every time we are in the car. “Crosby, say dog. Crosby, say mommy. Crosby, say banana.” It’s really cute. However, she also throws in a “Crosby, say no sir!” and then he does and she thinks it’s hysterical so he will just keep saying no over and over again. Speaking of, he does not shy away from telling you when he doesn’t want to do something. Usually it’s a whiny no with a forceful head shake. Cute, but not cute at the same time.

Nineteen month notes:
Weight – I’m guessing around 24-25 pounds. He’s a solid boy.
Hair – Brown. Grandpa buzzed his hair when we were home in Indiana this month.
Teeth – Still 12
Eyes – Brown
Clothes – 18-24 months and more 2T thanks to some hand me downs from Jack!
Diapers – Cloth diapers by day, disposables by night, size 4
Likes – Pointing at airplanes, being outside, food, push toys, cars, being chased or chasing something, birds, bugs, sleeping [knock on wood], Daniel Tiger, going to the park, pointing at the “lights”, singing (and signing) Five Little Monkeys, climbing tables and chairs, playing with whatever Kenley is playing with, Lego Duplos, trains (choo choo), going for walks around the block, books
Dislikes – Diaper changes (little does he know he can avoid these by going to the potty), waiting for his food to be served, chickpeas

Operation Give Back 5k {Race Recap}

On Saturday, May 16th I ran my second Operation Give Back Wounded Warriors 5K on campus at UCF. Just one year ago at this race, I met up with the East Orlando Moms RUN This Town group for the first time. I overheard Kayla mention she had a six month old, so I introduced myself and we got to chatting. It turns out our boys were only days apart and we used to live in the same neighborhood only a couple streets down from each other. Since then, Kayla and I have ran four half marathons together and several other races. We were both looking forward to this race as it was our run-iversary.

Untitled

On our way to the starting line, we met up with Beata. We all were chatting about how we wanted to run a sub 30 minute race. I had ran my first sub 30 at the Lady Track Shack 5K, but the other two were going for their first. I wanted to beat my previous 5K PR.

The course was a little different than last year where we got to run through campus. This year was an out and back on the outskirts of campus, but it was perfectly fine. One good thing about an out and back course is that you pretty much see everyone who is running the race, so we got to cheer on some other mamas running both the 5K and the 10K.

We started out right on track and even had to make ourselves slow down a little bit to pace ourselves. Our splits were as follows:

Mile 1 – 9:35.5
Mile 2 – 9:08.4
Mile 3 – 8:53.2
Mile 4 – 0:43.7

Untitled

Total time: 28:20.8 Overall pace: 9:09 minutes/mile

I’m so proud of these girls. Each of us set a 5K PR and by a long shot too!

Overall, this race is wonderful. It is for a great cause and it is very well put together. If Kenley didn’t have a soccer game that morning, I would have brought the whole family. There are a lot of family friendly events after the races and there is also a kids race. This will definitely be a yearly race for me.

we may or may not have brought our beverage sleeve to the game.

Untitled

saturday morning we headed to the good neighbors farmer’s market in oviedo. it’s a farmer’s market that is actually on a farm, so we got to see the most adorable baby piglets ever.

Untitled

kenley held an adorable baby goat.

Untitled

we also held baby bunnies and saw a lot of very large animals too. crosby had a great time. this is the face he makes whenever he hears an airplane.

Untitled

in the afternoon, we headed down to the jenkinson’s to swim and cook out!

Untitled

sunday morning, heather and i headed out for five miles bright and early. we followed it up with our first piyo class today. i’m definitely going to be feeling it tomorrow.

My current favorite oil blend is the “wake up” blend. It is perfect for the afternoon when I could really go for a coffee to help make it through the rest of the day.

12 drops of orange
12 drops of peppermint
2/3 full of grape seed oil

This combo is also amazing in the diffuser. Try it!

The MLB went pink on Sunday for Mother’s Day and the Going to Bat Against Breast Cancer program. I love this!

I absolutely love this Baseball American Flag Tee from Gymboree. Depending on what size, it comes in both grey and white. Unfortunately they were out of Crosby’s size (both in store and online), but I ordered him a 3T for next summer. This baseball-loving family couldn’t pass it up!

A while ago I ordered a DevaCurl gift set. It was a really good deal on the products I already use and there was a gift with purchase… I couldn’t pass it up to begin with, but it also included the DevaCurl Microfiber Towel. I had read good things about it and I definitely wanted to try it. I used it off and on until recently. For the past week or so I have been using it every day and I have seen such a difference in my hair! It is far less frizzy than it is when I wrap it up in a normal towel and it just feels more healthy. I am seriously in love.

I love the smell of coconut, so as soon as I saw this Yes to Coconut body wash at Target I had to have it. Oh my goodness, it smells absolutely delicious. Now that I’ve looked for it online, it’s apparent a Target exclusive, so the next time you’re there, pick it up. It definitely makes me want to try the other Yes to Coconut products out there.
