21 Months

Crosby is 21 months old!

It’s been “monkey see, monkey do” around our house lately. Kenley has been doing so well with swimming and jumping and diving into the pool, which results in Crosby thinking he’s really good at doing all of those things too. He has made a habit of just jumping in off the side of the pool even if no one is watching, which is always fun… or not. In all seriousness, he is doing a great job of swimming, but he definitely still needs some work. It doesn’t stop in the pool either, Crosby will mimic anything that Kenley does, good or bad.

This little guy is such a sweetheart. He loves to cuddle and will walk up to you and give you a kiss on your leg. We get reports from his teachers that he loves sharing, he minds his own business most of the time, and he loves giving hugs. On the other hand, whenever he knows he’s in trouble, he will come over to you for a big hug and says “hi mommy” or “hi daddy” in the sweetest little voice and the with the sweetest little smile. Little booger.

21 Months

His vocabulary is really taking off, he is repeating everything and is stringing together 2-3 words at a time. His words aren’t as clear as Kenley’s at this age, but we can usually understand what he’s saying. Our favorite right now is when he wants to say “where did it go?” but it just comes out as “go?” with his arms out to the side all confused. It’s pretty cute. What is not as cute is when we are stopped in the car at a red light and he’s screaming “GO!!” like we are choosing to sit there and wait.

Twenty-one month notes:
Weight – Probably around 26-27 pounds
Hair – Brown, thick, and grows so fast!
Teeth – 16 – he had 4 teeth come through this month!
Eyes – Brown
Clothes – Some 18-24 months and mostly 2T; size 6 or 7 shoes
Diapers – Cloth diapers by day, disposables by night, size 4
Likes – Singing ‘head, shoulders, knees, and toes’, pointing at bugs, giving high fives and fist bumps, hugs and kisses, swimming, playing Play-Doh (aka trying to eat it), cars, trucks, choo-choos, airplanes, Duplo Legos, puzzles, most foods, chugging his milk at dinner, throwing food when he’s done with dinner, saying ‘no’, rolling his cars along the floor, couch, or wall, reading books, singing songs, Daniel Tiger and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, putting on his shoes
Dislikes – Getting his diaper or clothes changed, when he doesn’t have his milk at dinner

Friday I’m in Love

Happy Friday! Where in the world did this week go?
I’ve got a lot to love on this week, so let’s get the party started.

I was provided with the opportunity to try some of the Fruttare Fruit Bars and since it’s about a million degrees here in Florida, I jumped at the chance. I picked up a box of the mango, strawberry & milk, and coconut & milk at Target and these little guys did not disappoint. My favorite is the coconut & milk… shocking, I know. I just love all things coconut and these are really refreshing. The next flavor on my list to try is the pineapple!

You can learn more about Fruttare on their website, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
Check them out!

You may have seen that I was in one of my favorite cities this past weekend… CHICAGO! I love visiting the city and am still checking off new places to visit each time I go. This time I made it to Water Tower Place and we went through Wrigleyville while we were on the trolley. Of course, seeing my friends too helped make the experience that much more enjoyable.

This summer, Greg and I have been watching Wayward Pines. It actually ended last night but I highly recommend if you are able to watch the series, do it! It is SO good and it’s one of the few shows that we actually watched on the night it aired. Bonus: our other shows this summer are also Suits (LOVE!) and Extant.

While in Chicago, I was able to hang out with my trendy friend who informed me that backpacks are in. So, of course, I’ve been shopping for backpacks. There are several from Nordstrom that are adorable, but are a little out of my price range, however the Herschel Supply Co. Dawson Backpack may be the front runner. What do you think?

Speaking of backpacks, the kids have the Skip Hop Zoo Packs, but these Skip Hop Forget Me Not backpack sets are adorable for the bigger kids.

friday arrived and so did the stomach bug…just in time for me to leave first thing saturday morning for a quick trip to chicago. thankfully greg and grammy held down the fort while i was away. Untitled

i arrived to chicago super early on saturday and went straight to the race expo to pick up my packet and do a little shopping.

Untitled

michael and rachel picked me up and we made our way downtown to hang out during the day. we walked, shopped, and ate until it was time for celeste and i to head to the hotel.

Untitled

the reason for the trip was to celebrate mary beth, the bride to be!
and celebrate we did!

Untitled

we had an amazing night complete with drinks, dinner, dancing, and trolley riding all over the city. the weather was beautiful and the company was even better. Untitled

a few hours later, i was up and ready to run the rock n roll half marathon!

Untitled

i’m so thankful these two came out to cheer me on around the course. Untitled

i finished running, showered, and hopped on my flight back home. it was a quick trip, but worth every second. i’ll share more about the race soon!

Untitled

meanwhile, greg snapped a few pics of their day on sunday. kenley likes to play games on the ipad and crosby likes to watch her!

the ucf football team visited the kids’ school on friday. kenley talked about it all week long. judging by the photo that a friend sent to me, it looked like she had a great time!

just a friday night walk around the block in our pjs.

katie and i got in six miles on saturday morning and we were done before 7am. it sure felt good.

after my run, we took a two mile bike ride while greg ran. it probably wasn’t the best idea considering the high was 99 degrees on saturday.

best buds…when they want to be.

i ordered the sticker labels for my oils, which prompted me to clean out two of our junk drawers this weekend. i’m obsessed.

seriously? already?

three of the boys in crosby’s class came over today to swim. they sure are fun to watch together. crosby was so excited to see them outside of school, he wasn’t sure what to do.

today marked kenley’s first day diving into the pool from the side!

she loved it!

GOPR0275[1]

they sure are cute.

thursday, greg did some serious work on the driveway. it looks so much better!

we decided to head to sea world on friday morning. i was worried that it would be busy since it was a holiday, but it ended up being quite the opposite. at times we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves and were able to do some of the rides more than once.

saturday morning, heather and i ran the watermelon 5k in winter park! it was a fun run, but we were pretty pleased with our time.

sporting their red, white, and blue!

festive food.

ready to party!

the cutest party guest…sweet kennedy.

greg and i had a date night for our anniversary. we did a wine tasting and asked to sit in the bar so we could watch the women’s soccer game. by the time we sat down for dinner, it was already 4-0! we enjoyed the rest of the game over some good food and wine, as well as complimentary blanc de blanc!

we had a great long weekend and spent some much needed time with my parents. it’s going to be hard getting back in the swing of things once they leave.
