Kenley has officially completed VPK (voluntary pre-kindergarten)! Her little graduation ceremony was held on Wednesday at the Orlando Repertory Theatre in downtown Orlando. It was our first time at the Orlando Rep and I have already decided that we’ll be back this year to see a show. It was so nice and super kid friendly.
The ceremony was at 1pm so it was just the three of us since Crosby was still at school. As a little gift, we got Kenley the Oh, the Places You’ll Go! book. I’m not sure I’ve ever read the book or it’s been quite a while since I have, so I got a little teary-eyed reading it to her before we headed into the ceremony.
The ceremony was quick and adorable. All of the graduates got to walk or roll across stage to get their diploma and their photo taken. Kenley was so nervous and was fidgeting with her hands and dress the whole time. All of the classes from the two campuses sang a little song together at the end to close the ceremony.
After visiting with her current teachers and former teachers, we headed out for a bite to eat and a drink with some friends. It was such a fun and bittersweet day. We’re so excited for the next step into kindergarten at a new school, but also so sad for her to leave the amazing school that we’ve been with for the last five years. We are so thankful for the amazing teachers, staff, and administrators that have made our experience there so great.
Kindergarten, here she comes!
