Maggi & Greg’s Wedding // October 2017

After arriving in Mexico on Friday, we woke up to wedding day on Saturday! I had breakfast with Greg and the kids before the wedding day activities.

Untitled

I spent the day with the bride and bridesmaids getting pampered, drinking champagne, and taking pictures. Everything was absolutely perfect and we had such a good time.

After we got all beautiful, we headed downstairs to hop in the golf cart to be transported to the site of the wedding.

Untitled

We all got some last minute touch ups before it was time to walk down the aisle.

Untitled

We walked down the aisle directly onto the beach. You couldn’t ask for a better backdrop for a wedding ceremony.

Untitled

During cocktail hour, we headed out for pictures on the beach with the amazing photographers from Parasol Photo.Graphics.

Untitled

The reception was on the terrace that overlooked the site of the ceremony, the beach, and the ocean. We spent the rest of the evening eating, drinking, dancing, and celebrating the happy couple.

Mexico // October 2017

We arrived home from Chicago on Monday and were back at the airport on Friday to leave for Mexico! To say we had a busy October would be an understatement. We were off to Cancun to celebrate Maggi & Greg’s wedding.

Untitled

The flight to Cancun was quick and easy! As soon as we arrived at the resort, we started seeing family and friends. The kids wasted no time getting their suits on and heading to the beach.

Untitled

The welcome reception was Friday night in the main bar of the resort. It was so good to see a lot of friends and family who we hadn’t seen in a long time. We had an Asian dinner at Lemongrass before heading to bed to get ready for the wedding on Saturday.

The kids were up early each morning so we had an early breakfast before the wedding festivities began on Saturday. I have so many pictures from Saturday, so I will share those in a separate post. Greg and the kids played at the pool and beach while I was with the bride-to-be before the wedding ceremony.

The entire wedding day was so much fun. We woke up on Sunday and it was my birthday! Greg and the kids ordered me cake for breakfast, which was awesome.

Untitled

We spent the entire day at the beach and the pool while the kids enjoyed some time at the kids camp. Michael and I went out on the stand up paddle boards which is all I wanted to do all day. It was so much fun.

Kenley got her hair braided and the kids jumped on the trampoline as part of kids camp. The camp was such a great feature of the resort, the kids were begging to go while we were happy to have some time to ourselves.

After such a relaxing day, we headed out for a birthday dinner with more dessert!

We headed back to Orlando on Monday kicking and screaming (mostly me). We could have used another day on vacation but the real world called us back. We said our goodbyes and hopped on the shuttle to head to the airport.

We had such an amazing time in Mexico celebrating Maggi & Greg. The entire wedding weekend was absolutely perfect and being able to celebrate my birthday on the beach in Mexico was an added bonus!

we had a busy weekend and unfortunately, greg worked most of it. i can’t believe it’s already november!

how was your weekend?

monthly miles {october}

After running the biggest race of my life, running took a backseat to all of the other fun activities we had this month.

Total miles: 50.8

Fun places I ran: Chicago! This will go down as the best place I ran all year.

Untitled

Races I ran: The 40th anniversary of the Chicago Marathon.

unnamed

Favorite running thing this month: The Lululemon Train Times 6″ Short. These shorts got me through a lot of long runs and a marathon. I wore the black ones on race day.

Longest run: 26.2 miles and I earned the title of marathoner.

Non-running workouts: I went to piyo and boot camp this month. I really have missed piyo and I hope to make it to class more through the end of the year. I did boot camp for the first time this past weekend and I really liked it! The class went by quickly and it was a great variety of strength and cardio. I also did the stand up paddle board while we were in Mexico which I loved.

Untitled

Next month: My next race is the Celebration half marathon in January, so I’ll continue running and training for that race over the next month. My long runs will decrease significantly from what I’ve been doing the last four months, so I am looking forward to that. I’m also looking forward to running for fun and not being tied down to a training plan.

Happy running!
