Indiana {March 2018}

On Saturday morning, I watched the sun rise from an airplane on the way to Indianapolis. I landed around 8:30am and immediately got the day started!

My oldest friend is having a baby and I got to celebrate with her! It was so good to see Lisa, her family, and some friends from high school and IU.

After the shower, we headed back to my parents’ house to celebrate my grandma’s birthday! She didn’t know that I would be in town, so it was a fun surprise!

I hopped on the 5:30am flight on Monday morning and headed back to Orlando. It was weird traveling alone, but it was nice to be able to bounce around the city for two days and see so many people, both friends and family! I am so happy to have been able to celebrate baby Richards and my grandma’s birthday.

Until next time, Indy! Thanks for the great weekend!

Lindsey’s Surprise Sprinkle

Our good friend Lindsey is due next month with a baby girl! So naturally, Sally, Kristy, and I wanted to throw her a little sprinkle to celebrate baby Kennedy’s arrival. If you remember when Sally was pregnant with Margot, we started what is now a tradition of making sure the sprinkle shower is a surprise. They returned the favor for me before baby G2 was born at my surprise sprinkle. So of course, Lindsey was not getting away with knowing about her own sprinkle in advance.

We sent out the invitations before the holidays then got to work after the holidays on all the party details. The invitations were done by Kimberly J Design and they were so cute!

We wanted to do a sprinkle theme so our menu included: chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles, chocolate covered strawberries with sprinkles, fruit salad and dip, Donut King donut holes, homemade funfetti sheet cake, and raspberry lemonade. Sally and I both found the fruit dip on DoughmesticHousewife‘s Instagram page. Great minds think alike! It is one block of very soft cream cheese and one small tub of marshmallow fluff. So easy and so delicious!

The adorable tassle garland is from The Flair Exchange and was in our swag bag from the last Meet + Make. We definitely put it to good use and it was the perfect party decor.

After we mingled, got hopped up on sugar, and played a cute little shower game, Lindsey opened her gifts.

after greg got off the phone with me, apparently someone was calling her.
we sometimes say “yo lo” for hello and she’s picked up on this.

saturday, we celebrated baby hudson with a little sprinkle.

kenley was most excited about the leftover cupcakes.
her newest phrase is “mommy, look!” which she said every time she ate the icing with her finger.

we snuck out of the house after the kids were in bed on saturday to celebrate ryan’s birthday!
we enjoyed a couple beers, the olympics, and some smoked oysters.
it was good to get out for a couple hours and socialize with other adults.

greg was upset with the sandwich distribution, yet again.

we had a good weekend, but i didn’t get nearly enough done, as i would have liked.
however, we got to see a lot of friends, so that makes up for it.

A Sprinkle Shower

A couple weekends ago, I had the opportunity to throw a sprinkle
for a friend who is due with her second baby next week.
Since it wasn’t a full on baby shower, I ran with the idea that it was a sprinkle.
A sprinkle shower!
As soon as I saw the invitation on Pinterest, I knew it was perfect.

From there, the decor all fit into the sprinkle theme.

All of the food and drink items had to have sprinkles.

I dipped the bottle rims into a bowl of water, then into a bowl of sugar sprinkles.
They hardened perfectly within a few hours.
The bottles are Starbucks Frappuccino bottles that have now been through three parties,
and I’m sure will go through many more!

The party was at 2pm, so I figured desserts with sprinkles would be perfect.

Mini cupcakes from Sweet
Chocolate covered pretzel rods with sugar sprinkles
Sugar cookies with sprinkles
Funfetti cheese ball with vanilla wafers

The cheese ball was a big hit. It was so yummy!

What Will It Bee?

I have some really great friends.
They threw me a surprise shower (or sprinkle, as some would say) to celebrate baby G2.
Not to mention, it was the cutest theme ever!

The shower started at 2pm so they had light appetizers.
Menu: spinach dip // cheese ball // the famous sausage balls //
pineapples & grape skewers (you know… like a bumble bee. cute right?) //
cucumber water // iced tea with honey sticks // lemonade
For dessert: mini cupcakes from Sweet.
Absolutely perfect.

We are so blessed!

my weekend in photos

i originally thought that this weekend was going to be pretty boring
because we had nothing planned and was actually looking forward to it.
but, it turned out to be quite the opposite and i didn’t take nearly enough pictures to prove it.

Untitled

i got home from work on friday and my lifelong bff and mom were at my house.
i could not believe it. we spent friday night catching up and chatting,
then headed out saturday morning for breakfast at keke’s (our favorite).

Untitled

after a much-needed long nap, we headed down to our friend’s house to see what they were up to.
i gave my mom and lisa the hardest time about bringing their purses since were only going five houses down.
much to my (obvious) surprise, they had other plans for us.

Such a fun afternoon celebrating baby G2, thanks to my sweet friends! @mjenkinson501 @sallysarahdsgn @lindseyh876

my sweet friends threw me a surprise sprinkle to celebrate baby G2.
i literally could not have been more surprised. they pulled it together perfectly.
(more pictures and details to come)

Untitled

it wouldn’t be a weekend with my mom if were didn’t do some shopping.
the girls headed out for an afternoon at the mall
before we had to say goodbye to mee-maw and lisa.

Savoring the last little bit of an unexpectedly awesome weekend.

i’ve been savoring every last second of this unexpectedly awesome weekend
and eating as many cupcakes as i want.

needless to say, this weekend rocked.

Lindsey’s Nautical Baby Shower

Our dear friends Lindsey & Mitch are expecting a baby boy very soon and
I had the pleasure of throwing a baby shower with three other awesome ladies to celebrate the occasion.
This was definitely a “divide and conquer” baby shower, which was great.
We all noticed that we weren’t stressed on the morning of the shower,
when we definitely would have been if we were throwing it ourselves.

We chose the nautical theme based on the nursery decor and it couldn’t have turned out better.
Nautical is very in right now so it was easy to find inspiration on Pinterest of fun
ideas that we wanted to incorporate. Here are all the fun details:

It was fun thinking back to all the previous showers we have been to together.
Sally was pregnant with her first at Lindsey’s bridal shower, then found out on
the day of my baby shower that she was pregnant with her second.
I am now pregnant at Lindsey’s baby shower. It’s been an eventful five years of friendship!

We all had such a wonderful day celebrating Lindsey and baby Wyatt.
He is already so loved and we can’t wait for him to get here!

Thank you to Mary Beth & Kirby for throwing such a great shower for Mandy and sweet baby L!
Thank you to Chris for taking care of your bedridden wife + four more girls for the weekend,
for allowing us to snuggle & eat dinner in your bed, and for making us Kilroy’s bread sticks at 9am!

It was such a fun trip and we cannot wait to meet baby L!
