Christmas at Seaworld // 2016

Another item on our advent list this year was to see the Christmas lights and decorations at SeaWorld. We went last year for the first time and absolutely loved it. Instead of the Polar Express this year, the main attraction was Rudolph and friends. I was a little bummed that the Polar Express wasn’t back because it was really so cool last year, but Rudolph was a nice change of pace and something new for us to see.

Unfortunately, it was pushing 90 degrees when we arrived. Nothing says happy holidays like sweating like crazy walking around to look at the decorations. Luckily, when the sun went down it was a little better, but it was still really humid.

We only rode a couple of rides since the lines were a little long. The kids could have looked at the train display all day. We watched them go around and around during the day and then again at night when they were all lit up. It’s such a cool display.

We were ready for the Sea of Trees show which had a cute little introduction and skit before the light show started. Crosby joined the other kids to sing a Christmas carol and was asked to participate in the show!

The show did not disappoint and Crosby did such a good job ringing the bell. He was all about it! After the show, we headed over to see the Rudolph in the Christmas village.

The line for Rudolph and Clarice was a bit long, so we met Bumble instead before we walked around to see the lights.

The park was beautifully decorated and the lights were amazing. We had such a great time once again this year.

it was moving day! yes, that truck looks bigger than our house,
yet it still took two trips to the new house.

Untitled

greg drank is coffee out of a measuring cup,
while i opted for panera coffee when i stopped to get bagels.

Untitled

luckily, i got to be the one who unpacked and organized,
while the men did all the heavy lifting.
i thought i was making real progress, until the second load of stuff came over.

Untitled

then, it looked like this by nightfall.

Untitled

thanksgiving morning, kenley and i had to run to walmart for diapers and milk.
priorities here, people.
shockingly, the place was packed!

Untitled

we spent most of the day organizing and getting more stuff from the other house.
thank goodness starbucks was open.
it, too, was packed.

Untitled

it finally started to feel like thanksgiving around 5pm.
fried turkey is seriously the best. hands down.

Untitled

kenley agrees.

Untitled

we enjoyed thanksgiving dinner, just the three of us.
it was kenley’s first real thanksgiving dinner & she is a fan.

Untitled

after taking almost the entire week off from running, unintentionally,
kenley and i went out for my last saturday run before race day. (yikes).

the rest of the weekend has been unpacking and organizing,
and of course, christmas decorating.

we had a wonderful, hectic, busy, thankful holiday weekend,
and are so happy to be (almost all the way) moved into our new house.

many pictures & projects to come!

how was your holiday weekend?

Florida Christmas [Part III]

This was the second year that we were able to schedule
Florida Christmas around the boat parade!
Grammy has her annual boat parade party with all of her friends
and it turns out to be a fun night to watch all the Christmas lights go by!

Unfortunately, Kenley missed the boat parade.
She was sound asleep in the Ergo majority of the party.

We had such a great weekend celebrating Christmas,
hanging out with the family,
swimming, boating, tubing, fishing,
looking at the Christmas lights,
and watching the boat parade.

We can’t wait to see the other Gilbertson’s and Grammy again soon!

Florida Christmas [Part II]

When I was little, one of my favorite Christmas traditions was when we
all piled in the car to drive around our subdivision and look at the Christmas lights.
We called it driving through “Candyland” and always had the Christmas music cranked up.

While celebrating Florida Christmas, we have made our own tradition
by bundling up and driving the boat around the canal to look at all the Christmas lights.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to do.

This was also Kenley’s first boat ride!
Fear not people, we do not go fast, nor do we go far.
All were safe.

We saw some awesome Christmas lights!

Then it’s time for presents & Christmas dinner!

Kenley is Auntie Alanna’s only niece and Addy’s only girl cousin!

More pictures to come!
