one of the best ways to avoid meltdowns right before dinner: car rides around the block.

and mowing the grass. earning his keep, you know?

Untitled

greg pulled the kids in the bike trailer while i ran beside them. it’s already too hot to run after the sun comes up apparently since i was dying after 3 miles. but at least i had good company!

saturday morning fun at mygym!

Untitled

i went to target on a mission and it just so happened the line at starbucks disappeared as soon as i got done checking out. i took that as a sign to treat myself.

Untitled

later that afternoon, we went to the park to kick around the soccer ball and run around. it didn’t last long on the account of it being 150 degrees out.

Untitled

after church on sunday we headed to easter lunch hosted by our friends.

Happy Easter!

Our plan all along was to get the kids their bikes for Easter. I figured it was the perfect gift going into the spring and summer seasons and we don’t have any other majors holidays coming up before their birthdays in the fall. I snagged Crosby’s bike on a good deal weeks ago, but when we went to order Kenley’s it was out of stock…and still is. So… I scrambled last minute to put together baskets for them. I love how they turned out, but am still a little sad the bike isn’t here yet. Knowing my luck, it’ll come this week, but whenever it does, they’ll get a fun surprise!

Untitled

Kenley’s basket included Lego Juniors Princess Play Castle, Piggy Pajamas, Doc McStuffins coloring book, Annie’s Graham Crackers, and a few eggs filled with Starburst Jelly Beans. Crosby’s basket included Lego Duplo Town Airport, Car Pajamas, My First Coloring Book, Annie’s Graham Crackers, and two Hot Wheels cars.

Of course the kids loved their baskets, so that’s all that matters!

***

we had a good weekend.
today was a tale of two halves. the first half of the day was spent together as a family worshiping and eating.
the second half was filled with lots of toddler meltdowns and mommy trying to hold down the fort.
we had frozen pizza two nights in a row while daddy worked… no judging.

the good news is that “He is risen!” and we are so thankful for that!
hope you had a wonderful easter weekend.
