kenley was decked out for margot’s flamingo birthday party!

we squeezed in a quick nap today while one child was napping and the other was watching frozen.

it wouldn’t be a weekend without a meal from tijuana flats.
in honor of being a dad, greg got a free beer when he and kenley picked up the food.

crosby may be the most photogenic member of our family.
happy father’s day!

***

we had a low key weekend and it was great!
we watched captain phillips on friday (highly recommend) and celebrated a birthday on saturday.
father’s day consisted of running and yard work in the morning, then relaxing the rest of the day.

happy father’s day to all those daddies out there!

Due to time constraints (read: two children and a messy house), I haven’t been on Pinterest much lately, which is unfortunate. When I do get on Pinterest, I’m quickly rummaging through my board of recipes to find one that we haven’t tried before…which is most of them. This week, however, we made not one, but TWO new recipes and they were both delicious!
The first was apple cinnamon slow cooker porkloin. I was apprehensive because I tend to overcook meat in the crock pot since it’s cooking all day long, but this was really great! We had [instant] mashed potatoes and mixed veggies on the side.
The second recipe was oven baked fajitas. I was drawn to these because we could put them together the night before and pop them in the oven when we got home. Also, very good!

While I was doing my weekly stroll through Gap.com to see if there was anything I couldn’t pass up, I found this onesie and fell in love. It’s just so sweet. If you’re pregnant with a “little sister” this is for you! And no, not for me, there is a reason I didn’t buy it, even though I thought about it.

I love photography and I love social media, so it’s no surprise Instagram is one of my favorites and one app that I am constantly opening on my phone. I follow a good number of people, most of who I don’t even know, they just take very pretty pictures. I really enjoyed Lindsay’s tips for editing photos for Instagram this week. And while we’re on the topic, Ashley Ann’s challenge for herself, which I can totally relate to. Enjoy!

Happy last day of February!

my weekend in photos

after greg got off the phone with me, apparently someone was calling her.
we sometimes say “yo lo” for hello and she’s picked up on this.

saturday, we celebrated baby hudson with a little sprinkle.
{ many more photos to come }

image

kenley was most excited about the leftover cupcakes.
her newest phrase is “mommy, look!” which she said every time she ate the icing with her finger.

image

we snuck out of the house after the kids were in bed on saturday to celebrate ryan’s birthday!
we enjoyed a couple beers, the olympics, and some smoked oysters.
it was good to get out for a couple hours and socialize with other adults.

image

greg was upset with the sandwich distribution, yet again.

// stripe lace sleeve top // tiny toms //

a prime example of monkey see, monkey do.
kenley had so much fun running around (literally) with charlie & margot after dinner.

we had a good weekend, but i didn’t get nearly enough done, as i would have liked.
however, we got to see a lot of friends, so that makes up for it.

ready for the big game!

this was the first year in a long time we didn’t have a superbowl party,
but hanging out just the two of us watching the game and commercials was just what we needed.
unfortunately, it wasn’t as good of a game as we would have liked.

of course, the weekend went by way too fast, but it was a productive one.

In recent weeks, our Publix deli has gotten an online ordering system,
where you can order online before coming to the store… Ah-mazing.
Greg is officially obsessed. (He’s usually the one who goes to Publix, while I go to Target – divide and conquer.)
We buy deli meat & cheese each week for lunches, so it is a total time saver for us.
Being able to beat the crowd and just pick up our order when we arrive is clutch.
Good work Publix…shopping with you is truly a pleasure.

Super Bowl XLVIII
Even though the Colts aren’t playing in the big game,
I am pretty excited about the Super Bowl on Sunday.
We have family in both Denver & Seattle, so I am excited for them to cheer for their own teams.
I will definitely be rooting for the Broncos and Peyton!
It’s no surprise that I still love him and would love to see him win another ring.
So, go Broncos!

After a couple rainy days this week,
I’ve decided Kenley is getting some rain boots for Valentine’s Day.
Just look at the cute option out there (for a little lady or fella):

Polka dot // Ladybug Rain Boot // Frog Rain Boots

Orson Rain Boots // Strawberry Toss

We are big fans of Chiptole, so we tried this recipe of their cilantro lime rice.
Oh, so good!
We cooked the brown minute rice and mixed in the other ingredients,
and served it with grilled chicken, peppers, and mushrooms with a little bit of fajita seasoning.
We’re definitely adding this to our line up of dinners.
Yum!

Never too young for a little 4 Rivers!!! #Yummmmmus. @4riverssmokehouse @kendradee03 @kdlower

we ventured out for lunch to 4 rivers. it was delicious, especially because i didn’t get heartburn afterwards!

image

melissa was in town for a wedding, so we were able to hang out with her on friday.
since we’ve seen her, i’ve gotten pregnant and had a baby. that means it’s been too long!

we headed to the park this weekend.
kenley wanted to swing “super high” and “really fast”.

Happy birthday @doubleg1011! The closest thing to NY bagels outside of NYC.

greg and i took friday off to do nothing. it was awesome.
it was also greg’s birthday so we hit up brooklyn bagel for
the best bagels outside of new york.

Untitled

only the best for my hubby on his birthday.
including holiday wrapping paper. #fail

Iceeeee creeeeeaaaaaam. #YummyTreat

after running errands on the other side of town on saturday, we hit up our one of our favorite places,
jason’s deli. kenley obviously loves the free soft serve ice cream with your lunch.

kenley got some more practice in with baby greyson. she was so sweet to him.

greg and i went out for what will probably (hopefully) be our last date night on saturday.
we opted for sushi. so good.

Untitled

we also hit up oktoberfest which was happening right in our community.
it was happening.

Weird pregnancy craving of the week. #cherry #coke #yum #37weeks

i should also mention that our date started at lowe’s to get toilet parts
and ended at 7-11 so i could get a slurpee i was craving.

Pumpkins!

we headed out to breakfast sunday morning (apparently we ate out a lot this weekend),
then went to the pumpkin patch!

Birchbox and pj pants before 7pm. I'll take it! #happyfriday

a long day at work meant i was in my pjs by 7pm, actually more like 6:30pm, but who’s counting?
i also came home to my birchbox this month, which was fun to go through, as usual.

HipstaPrint

we did some major work on the house this weekend (greg mostly), but here is your sneak peek.

breakfast is not complete without your baby & a backpack.

It's summer! #nomnomnom #america

20 Weeks [Round Two]

While I still feel like the weeks are creeping by, I cannot believe we’re already at the halfway mark.
I had a routine check up Tuesday and all is well with baby G2. Heartbeat was 130 bpm,
which is on the lower end of the normal 120-150 range.
What does that mean? Are boys known to have slower heart rates or girls?

It’s funny to read that I was only in maternity clothes for a couple weeks at this point last time,
since I’ve been wearing maternity clothes for about 9 weeks now.
I really wish I could wear these maternity leggings every single day. They are so comfy.
I put them on as soon as I walk in the door each day.

We are making some progress on the nursery, but it’s a much slower process this time around.
It seems like we’ve been bouncing back and forth between different projects & rooms,
making it hard to focus on the nursery. Plus, it doesn’t help that I think I’ve decided on
something, then I change my mind two days later and want to do something totally different.
It was much easier with Kenley’s room, I knew exactly what I wanted and had a clear vision.
I’m hoping to share some inspiration with you soon!

I’ve become bored to death with regular water, so I’ve been trying some new things.
The Arizona Arnold Palmers are delightful, but I’ve also discovered the citrus flavored sparkling water from Whole Foods
thanks to being a little bit early to my doctor’s appointment this week.
I’ll be stopping there from now on when I go for my checkups.
I’m still eating anything and everything in sight, with exceptions of Amy’s Burritos.
These used to be my go-to for quick lunches, but since the first semester nausea, I’ve been totally turned off by them.
Hopefully my love for them will return, but at this point, I’m not sure.

This could be my new favorite drink. Good thing my doctor's office is right by Whole Foods!

We have a couple busy weeks coming up, so I will be trying to rest any chance I get,
but we’re really looking forward to our little babymoon that is right around the corner!
