between the four of us, we were three different places on saturday morning. work, soccer, and tee ball. so thankful for friends who treat my kids as their own, cheer for, and take pictures of while we weren’t there. it takes a village!
fort building on a lazy saturday.

after a busy friday and saturday morning, we did nothing the rest of the weekend. i really wanted it to be a true fall weekend with football and pumpkin spice everything, but it was still 90 degrees out, so we stayed inside. it was still glorious and a much needed chance to regroup before a crazy busy season that is right around the corner.
We kicked off the new year with a quick trip to Atlanta to watch the UCF Knights take on the Auburn Tigers in the 2018 Chic-Fil-A Peach Bowl. It turned out to be a long day, but oh so worth it as the Knights got a huge win and finished the season as the only undefeated team in college football.
Our flight was full of Knights fans heading up to Atlanta. It made for such a fun experience as soon as we arrived at the airport.
Mercedes-Benz Stadium was a short MARTA ride from the airport so we arrived at the stadium with plenty of time before kick-off at 12:30pm. Thankfully, we didn’t have to spend too much time outside since it was 19 degrees, but we did get to see a couple snow flurries. The stadium was unbelievable. It was incredibly nice and everything was reasonably priced.
Our seats were amazing. The game was crazy, intense, and so much fun. The UCF fans were insanely loud and the Auburn fans headed home early.
We all had our obligatory Chic-Fil-A sandwich and cheered on the Knights to victory. The end of the game celebrations were so much fun. After the game, we headed back to the airport to wait out our long delay and watch the other football games happening on New Year’s Day. We finally boarded our flight at 11:45pm and our heads hit the pillow about 2am. It was such a great experience and the long day was completely worth it to see a Knights win with great friends. A huge thanks to my parents for watching the kids while we snuck away for the day.
we saw coco on friday night. it was amazing! go see it!
saturday morning, we headed to the first park of the day to see crosby’s friend sagan!
just hanging around.
in the afternoon, we headed to our second park to celebrate fenn’s birthday!
it was so good to see so many friends from kenley’s old school.
we made it to the ale house just in time for the second overtime of the ucf game and got to see the knights win! they ended the season 12-0 and are conference champions. we’re now peach bowl bound!
Happy Friday and welcome back to Friday I’m in Love. I am so excited to get this series started again now that summer has come and gone. I am also happy to be back on the blogging train. If you’re new here, each Friday I share what I’m loving that week. Most of the time, it’s the little things that mean the most. Let’s get started.
o n e
I’ve been reading (for fun) lately since I am not taking any classes this semester. I am currently reading Make It Happen thanks to a recommendation from a friend. The book is really good and very eye opening. I have also started following the author on Instagram and you should too. You can find her @laracasey.
t w o
I am also reading some great newsletters that show up in my inbox. The first is The Drafting Desk and it was created by an acquaintance here in Orlando. Subscribe and follow @thedraftingdesk on Instagram. The second one that I am really enjoying is Simple Families.
t h r e e
This is probably not surprising, but I love school supplies, planners, stationary, all the pretty things. Emily Ley released her fall line this week and it is all so pretty. I ordered the icon sticker set and am anxiously waiting to put them all over my Simplified Planner. Also, Le Pen fine-line colored pens are currently on Groupon! I am so excited to try them, I have heard such great things about them and am so happy to have found them so cheap!

It’s September and fall is in the air! Football is back and all of my fall decor is already out. I’ve already had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks and it was far less humid this week, which is probably just a big tease. I know most of you are probably hanging on to summer as long as possible, but fall is a mindset here in Florida and I am ready for it! It just makes me so happy.
We just started watching The People v. OJ Simpson this week, which is the first season of American Crime Story. We are hooked. We’ve watched an episode every night this week and it is so good! I highly recommend!
It’s tournament time, which means March Madness is right around the corner. The Hoosiers play today against Michigan with the hopes of continuing their streak right into the big dance.
It’s March and the weather here has been amazing! Beach and pool season is right around the corner and ironically enough, the Hanna Andersson catalog showed up in my mailbox today. Oh so many cute swimsuits on sale right now!
I will just jump right in and start gushing about how much I love October and how it is my favorite month of the year. If you don’t know, it’s my birthday month!! Of course, I was thrilled to find out when I met Greg (way back in 2006) that his birthday is only four days before mine — yay birthday week for us!! Fast forward to present time and I have since birthed two kiddos in the month of October so, it is officially birthday month for the Gilbos and we already have a jam-packed month of exciting things happening!

With all the fun that October brings, it also brings a cause that is near and dear to my heart – Breast Cancer Awareness month. During my undergrad years as a Zeta Tau Alpha, each fall we held our annual philanthropy event Big Man On Campus (BMOC) to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. It was an amazing event and one that is still going strong today.

On that same note, it’s time for A Crucial Catch with the NFL! I loved seeing all of the pink gear last night during the Thursday Night Football game and I am excited to see it the rest of the month. If you’re going to an NFL game this month, be on the lookout for members of ZTA handing out pink ribbons!

How great is the Charity by Design bangle from Alex + Ani?! 20% of the proceeds will go towards the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Adorable!

Happy last Friday of September! If you’re new here, on Fridays we share what we’re loving each week. It can be anything…and really, it’s always the little things that are the best. There are deets at the bottom on how you can join in on the fun, too. Let’s get started…
o n e
It’s officially fall!! If you are actually experiencing fall right now, I am jealous. According to this, Orlando won’t start feeling fall until October 28th….. bummer. It’s ok though, because this week, I got out ALL of the fall decorations so at least the inside of my house feels like fall…. then this weekend we will go jump in the pool and pretend like it’s still summer. #floridaproblems
This is truly one of those little things, but I seriously love our pediatrician’s office. We’ve made THREE visits to the office in the past week and each time they have gotten us an appointment within the hour and this week even stayed a little late to make sure we were seen. I was already feeling so thankful for them and the next day saw another mom on Facebook complaining about what a long wait they had at their own pediatrician’s office and it made me even MORE thankful.

Greg and I love iced coffee and Starbucks iced coffee, so when Greg found a deal on the Starbucks Iced Coffee K-Cups (60 count!!), we jumped on it. They are SO good. We got a sweetened and a vanilla sweetened. Yum!

A post went viral on Facebook this week sharing a safety tip for iPhone users. In the case of emergency, anyone can see your emergency contact information as long as you update your information in the Health app on your phone. Make sure that you select the “show in lock screen” button so it can be accessed when your phone is locked. Not only is this great to have on your phone, but also great to know where to check on someone else’s phone if needed. See the original post here and a full article on this feature here.
I have jumped on the avocado toast bandwagon breakfast recently and found 11 Easy Ways to Fancy Up Your Avocado Toast. I love feta cheese, but only buy it when it is buy one, get one free (BOGO) at Publix. Lucky for me, that was this week, so I have been having toast with avocado, feta cheese, and a dash of salt & pepper for breakfast. YUM. I am excited to try some of the other recipes listed.

Is it too early for Halloween pajamas? I think not.
I asked Greg what he was loving this week and he said (1.) NFL football is back and (2.) the Mets, again. The Mets swept the Nationals this week in come-from-behind wins in all three games to all but punch their ticket to the post-season. Needless to say, it was tense, but there was a lot of celebrating happening in our house this week. The NFL officially kicked off last night and we are both very excited that football is back, even though Greg has already disowned the Redskins. Go Colts!

the weekend started thursday night with haircuts for everyone. and crosby aged five years.
i ran the lady track shack 5k on saturday morning. it was cold. more details to come.
after my race, we took the kids to the school parking lot to let them drive their cars.
here is a glimpse of crosby’s senior pictures in 18 years.
it was hilarious watching them drive around.
after nap time, i took the kids down to the science center to meet ben & molly for a play date. it was super fun.
after church, we headed to bj’s. kenley asked for a picture. crosby clearly wasn’t thrilled about it.
we took advantage of a beautiful day and headed out for a bike ride!
our playground just got new sunshades and we are so happy about them!
due to a no nap day for kenley, both kids were asleep by 7pm and greg and i were parked on the couch for the superbowl. even though we weren’t attending a party, we still ate appetizers for dinner. and it was awesome.
