before my parents left on saturday, greg and i headed out for a date night on friday night. we enjoyed our wine tasting and dinner at cooper’s hawk, then a beer at brass tap.

Untitled

as soon as we were up on saturday morning, the christmas decorations started coming down. we took a short break to celebrate jackson’s 5th birthday at the park, complete the light sabers!

the weather was nice and cool and the kids had a great time. once kenley showed crosby how to put his leg over the top of the tower, he continued to climb over and over again. it’s so fun watching him learn new things.

Untitled

after ringing in the new year, we headed to the science center on sunday morning to check out the new kidstown, as well as toytopia before it ends. the new kidstown is amazing!

Untitled

greg and the kids had already been to toytopia, but i really enjoyed learning about the history of so many toys.

Friday I’m in Love

Happy Friday! I’ve been slacking on my Friday loves, so I have a lot to catch up on. Let’s get to it.

When we saw Trolls in the theater, we got to see the preview for the new Lego Batman movie. We’ve since watched the trailer several times and are all so excited to see it in February. There are 20 minifigures that go with the movie, which are all so cute. I am pretty sure vacation Batman is my favorite. Speaking of Batman, the kids love to sing the Batman version of Jingle Bells, so I was excited to find this free Batman smells printable from recipe for crazy to go with our Christmas decor.

I picked up a couple pairs of the new Old Navy Pixie Chino pants and I love them! I think I have previously shared my love for the Old Navy Pixie pants, but I like the chinos even more. They are not as tight or stretchy as the regular pixie and they are great for work. I have Gray Stone and Cool Sage Green.

Michelle and I frequently discuss how we are still so emotionally involved with Grey’s Anatomy. I know a lot of people don’t watch it anymore, but I just can’t seem to quit it. She sent me this article and it made me want to go back at watch every single one of these heart wrenching episodes. Why do I love this show so much?!

I have been doing majority of my Christmas shopping online and I am loving Ebates! I know I’ve mentioned this one before too, but if you haven’t signed up for Ebates, you are missing out. You get cash back for shopping online. It’s seriously that simple. I use the handy Google Chrome extension so it reminds me to activate my Ebates when I’m shopping.

Of course, I am loving all things Christmas right now! We’ve had so much fun with our advent calendar activities, including building a gingerbread house and making reindeer chow this week. The kids also have the Lego City and Lego Friends advent calendars, so they have loved building Legos each morning. We are looking forward to more Christmas fun the next few weeks!

Friday I'm in Love Linky Party

Don’t forget to check out what Misha is loving this week. What are you loving?!

Happy Friday and happy May!

I submitted my two final papers and gave my pecha kucha on Monday night concluding my spring semester! It feels damn good to be done. I know have some extra time to devote to publishing a few more blog posts and doing some projects around the house, which I am looking forward to!

When Crosby was in the ER, an awesome staff member introduced us to the Lego Juniors Create & Cruise app. We love Legos in this house and this app is now a fan favorite. Crosby has mastered how to build and drive all of the cars and he loves it! Download it, it’s a good one!

A sweet friend sent this video to me this week. I didn’t watch it at first because I was not in the mood to cry, but I did eventually watch it, and I did cry, but how beautiful!

Friday I'm in Love Linky Party

It’s a new month and we would love for you to join us! Post you’re favorite things and link it to our party so we can see what you’re loving!

Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the moms out there!

Friday I’m in Love

Happy Friday! There is so much to love this week, I’m not sure where to begin!

o n e

We had our third craft night this week! We made some cute hair clips and headbands for ourselves and our little girls, and we had plenty of supplies to choose from! It was a fun night of chatting with the girls and sipping on sparkling lemonade.

I’m sure you know this already, but I love social media. Social media, however, can be slippery slope. Be careful before you start to judge or envy someone based solely on their social media photos. There is usually more than what meets the eye. I love this article – I’m not a liar but Facebook sure is. On point.

Kenley is loving her Lego Juniors. We now have two sets which she refers to as “my legos that meemaw got me” (the Supermarket) and “my legos that the Easter bunny brought me” (the Princess Play Castle). I’m not sure how the Juniors are much different than the regular Legos because the Lego pieces are still very small (much smaller than the Duplos), but they are listed for ages 4-7 so we gave them a try. Thumbs up so far!

This week we remember the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings two years ago. On Wednesday, survivors threw out the first pitches at Fenway before the Red Sox game. Awesome.
