26 Weeks [Round Two]

We had, what will probably be, our last ultrasound yesterday.
It was at a different doctor’s office so the machine was a little bit more high tech,
which made it more fun, and we got a few more pictures of the little nugget.
The common consensus from everyone is that it is a boy.
I tend to go back and forth, depending on the day, which makes it fun.
However, I always call the baby a “he”… I’m not sure why, but it’s just a habit now.

When Kenley saw this picture she immediately said “baby”, which I thought was interesting.

We got good news from the doctor yesterday and I have been cleared to resume activities!
I’m not sure how much activity I’m going to be wanting to do over the next 14 weeks,
but I’m planning on resuming prenatal yoga classes, at the very least.

I cannot believe how much I’ve popped out in the last three weeks!
I knew I felt bigger, but wow!

I got to partake in my one hour glucose test today which was thrilling.
Crossing my fingers that I pass with flying colors!

At this point, I’m just trying to make it to August when my class is over (one more week!),
so I probably won’t update until we hit our third trimester.
I’m not even sure how that is possible, but we’re just a few weeks shy at this point.
I promise I will be sharing our nursery progress & inspiration soon…hopefully.
Thanks for hanging in there with me.

25 Weeks [Round Two]

I can’t believe it’s been three weeks since my last update.
A lot has happened. The short rundown is that we celebrated the
4th of July, our 5 year anniversary, and went on vacation!

There were also a slew of doctor’s appointments and ultrasounds in there too.
Each day I am realizing more and more that the whole “every pregnancy is different
saying is absolutely, positively true. From the surprise of getting pregnant,
to the weird pregnancy symptoms and random cravings.
On top of that, I have been seeing a lot of my doctor, more than last time,
but we’ve also gotten to see more of little baby G2 in the process,
which I am not complaining about!

Here are some shots of our last ultrasound at 23 weeks, including our first 4D ultrasound!

Upon seeing the pictures, my mom swears it’s a boy because he/she looks just like my brother.
Again, it’s still killing people that we don’t know, but you will be happy to know that
I stood very strong during our last ultrasound…especially since it was just me!
I willingly looked away each time she told me that she was moving towards the lower half of the body.
At this point, I am determined not to find out. It’s getting fun!

Overall, this second trimester has been going well… going FAST, but going well.
At first, 25 weeks doesn’t sound that bad, but last night it dawned on me that we
only have 15 weeks left… which caused a little big of anxiety.
I am feeling good, most of the time, but also starting to feel very large.
Very. large.
I know that I still have a long way to go, but this past week I have felt ginormous.

The progress in the nursery and the baby name department has stalled.
I have been teaching a class for the past 4 weeks, which has been a lot,
so a lot of other projects around the house have stalled too. I only have two more
weeks of class and one long to-do list started for the month of August.
I am hoping to post some of our nursery inspiration then.

Hopefully I’ll be back next week with some evidence of my growing belly,
I’ve been slacking in that department!

22 Weeks [Round Two]

To celebrate 22 weeks, Greg and I hit the road for a nice little babymoon.
Last time, we had already had a trip planned to Miami, which we dubbed as our babymoon,
but let’s be serious, isn’t your whole life a babymoon before you have a child?
This trip also marked our first trip away from little miss K, which was not easy.

Meemaw & Grandpa arrived Thursday night and we hit the road Friday morning to head southwest
about three and a half hours enjoying some treats on the way.

Untitled

We pulled into La Playa Resort in Naples, which was nothing short of amazing.
We had a great view from our balcony and spent the days soaking up the sun
and taking naps by our favorite pool.

Along with all the crazy pregnancy cravings I have been having,
one of them has been a Bloody Mary… I know, it’s so wrong to be craving
cocktails during pregnancy, but this [virgin] one hit the spot for sure.

Untitled

Our first night out, we had dinner at Fleming’s and went to the fanciest movie theater ever.
We were totally bummed out when we got there and all that was left were front row seats.
Assigned seats no less… how weird!
We debated not seeing the movie, but finally decided to cough up the $16 per ticket and see it.
Thankfully, we did because they were the biggest, plushest, comfiest seats ever
and we couldn’t even tell we were in the front row. Plus, the popcorn was only $6,
which is unheard of in our parts. So the cost all evened out in the end.

Untitled

First time at a theater with assigned seats. Expensive seats, but they are the most comfiest seats ever. #fancy #babymoonpartdeux

The second night out we headed down to Fifth Avenue, full of shops & restaurants.
We ended up at Yabba Island Grill which was right up our alley.

Untitled

I later realized that I had salsa for every meal that day, which was awe-some!

#babymoonpartdeux

Greg and I had a great time together relaxing, eating, and sleeping in as late as we wanted.
The scenery wasn’t too bad either.

We were excited to come home to our sweet girl on Sunday,
even though she was having a great time being spoiled by Meemaw & Grandpa.
We got a little spoiled too.
Not only did they come down to babysit, but we also came home a mowed yard
and trimmed landscaping! We are so thankful for both!

In other pregnancy news, I am still feeling great & energized, most of the time.
Baby G2 is moving around a lot, kicking & jabbing and Greg has been able to feel it.
The weekend getaway was a great way for me to rest, but now that we’re
back in the real world, it’s a little bit more difficult.
I have been pretty good about not picking up Kenley as much,
and she really hasn’t seemed to notice, which makes me feel better.

Progress in the nursery is moving along slowly but surely
and we have been tossing around names (after name after name)
to see if something will stick… so far… not much!
Good thing we have some time.

20 Weeks [Round Two]

While I still feel like the weeks are creeping by, I cannot believe we’re already at the halfway mark.
I had a routine check up Tuesday and all is well with baby G2. Heartbeat was 130 bpm,
which is on the lower end of the normal 120-150 range.
What does that mean? Are boys known to have slower heart rates or girls?

It’s funny to read that I was only in maternity clothes for a couple weeks at this point last time,
since I’ve been wearing maternity clothes for about 9 weeks now.
I really wish I could wear these maternity leggings every single day. They are so comfy.
I put them on as soon as I walk in the door each day.

IMG_7483

We are making some progress on the nursery, but it’s a much slower process this time around.
It seems like we’ve been bouncing back and forth between different projects & rooms,
making it hard to focus on the nursery. Plus, it doesn’t help that I think I’ve decided on
something, then I change my mind two days later and want to do something totally different.
It was much easier with Kenley’s room, I knew exactly what I wanted and had a clear vision.
I’m hoping to share some inspiration with you soon!

I’ve become bored to death with regular water, so I’ve been trying some new things.
The Arizona Arnold Palmers are delightful, but I’ve also discovered the citrus flavored sparkling water from Whole Foods
thanks to being a little bit early to my doctor’s appointment this week.
I’ll be stopping there from now on when I go for my checkups.
I’m still eating anything and everything in sight, with exceptions of Amy’s Burritos.
These used to be my go-to for quick lunches, but since the first semester nausea, I’ve been totally turned off by them.
Hopefully my love for them will return, but at this point, I’m not sure.

This could be my new favorite drink. Good thing my doctor's office is right by Whole Foods!

We have a couple busy weeks coming up, so I will be trying to rest any chance I get,
but we’re really looking forward to our little babymoon that is right around the corner!

19 Weeks {Round 2}

We were able to see baby G2 yesterday at our 19 week ultrasound!
I could sit there for hours and just watch baby move around in there.
We got some good pictures and everything with baby looks great!

Untitled

Untitled

We went into the ultrasound planning to not find out the gender,
and even after a minor freak out on my part, we stayed strong.
Greg made a good point that it would be silly to make a last minute decision
in the moment that we may regret later. If we decide later to find out, then ok,
but we were not going to find out yesterday. Decision made. Shew!
Turns out, baby was in on it too. Our doctor doesn’t even know
because the little booger’s legs were crossed the entire time.
As of now, there is no risk of anyone mistakenly revealing the gender to us.

I am feeling so good right now and I am so thankful for that.
No food aversions at all… actually quite the opposite. I will eat anything and everything in sight and I have no problem doing so.
I am off the juice kick and have still been chugging water because the “dying of thirst” continues.
I have minor aches and pains here or there,
but overall, I’m really loving the second trimester, just like last time.
I appreciate all the comments and “welcomes” to the yoga community
and I am happy to say that I’ve been to two Hatha mix classes since my last post that I really enjoyed.
Unfortunately, I’ve been put on pelvic rest, low activity & no lifting, etc.
for at least 5-6 weeks, so yoga (and many, many other activities) are off the table.
Major bummer.

18 Weeks {Round 2}

I swear I just posted an update yesterday, but I guess it’s been two weeks.
I am getting bigger, but I think that I am actually looking the appropriate size for 18 weeks,
and I don’t feel as ginormous as previous weeks, but then I see this picture and yikes!

IMG_71291

More importantly, for the last week I have been able to feel baby G2 moving around in there!
I don’t remember exactly when I started feeling Kenley move, but I don’t think it was this early.
A couple nights ago, I swear I could have felt a little kick from the outside, but no such luck yet.
I am excited for more movement to come!!

I am still feeling good and no crazy food cravings these past two weeks.
Kenley and I have been eating a lot of pickles though.
The girl loves them, just like her mama, but only the zesty (slightly spicy) ones…
NOT the bread & butter flavor.
They were buy one, get one free at Publix last week and we’ve almost polished off two jars of them. Yum!

I went to my first prenatal yoga class last week and I really enjoyed it.
Confession, it was actually my first yoga class ever!
I am much more of a cardio person, so if the activity doesn’t cause me to sweat profusely,
then I don’t think it’s much of a workout. I think I may start becoming a yoga person though,
if nothing else, for the stretching alone, which I am very bad on my own.

More next week! Happy Wednesday!

16 Weeks {Round 2}

I’m not sure how it’s possible, but this pregnancy is going so quickly, but so incredibly slow at the same time.
By my belly, I feel like I should be a couple weeks further along than I actually am,
but at the same time, I still can’t believe I’m already in my second trimester.
My body is continually changing. Belly is growing, growing, growing; and
my completely deflated-post-breastfeeding boobs have inflated again, so I may be on the hunt for new bras very soon.
I’ve had some odd aches and pains, but overall, I’m feeling really good.

IMG_66151

I am back to eating everything, thank goodness, and I feel like I can eat all day long…
Then, I immediately regret eating said food because I am so full.
I have had more cravings this time around.
Peanut butter on anything, pretzels, apples, bananas, rice cakes, pancakes…anything!
We are not juice drinkers in our house and I didn’t really grow up drinking juice.
I’m always so aware of how much sugar is in it, so I don’t really ever have the desire to drink it…
until I’m pregnant. Last time I drank a lot of apple juice. This time, it’s anything,
apple juice, orange juice, orange juice with mango, V8 Splash, strawberry banana! I love it.
I have also cut a few things out of my diet completely, which has been somewhat sad.
Alcohol (obviously), caffeine (for the most part), deli meat (sad), and raw sushi.
I’ve been craving coffee lately, so I will have some decaf iced coffee and it totally hits the spot.
We are pretty big (diet) soda drinkers, so I have really laid off that immensely.
I basically think about food all day long, and I’m ok with that.

I had my 16 week appointment yesterday and everything looks good.
I’m gaining weight and little baby G2’s heart rate was 149 bpm.
I haven’t felt any movement yet, but I’m anxiously waiting to!

The past two weeks I’ve went for at least one run… I think just one run each week,
but I ran 2 miles each time, with a short break at the one mile marker.
I feel so good once I get out and run and it’s honestly not that difficult.
Hopefully I’ll be able to keep it up.
I’m only running outside with Greg and only pushing the stroller during the time to walk,
so it helps having a support system and not pushing a 35 lbs+ stroller.
Still haven’t made it to yoga yet, but maybe next week.

Until next time!

26 Weeks!

We are nearing the end of the second trimester,
and, believe me, I will be very sad to see it go.

I’ve been getting bigger by the day and my belly button is starting to change a lot!
It’s so weird!

Baby G is definitely making it known that she’s in there growing.
Starting Monday she has been moving like crazy,
every day… most of the day…
She kicks a lot and we’re beginning to see it on the outside now too.
Again, which is so weird!

This week she is the size of an English hothouse cucumber,
which I learned today exactly what that was.

Today, I had my glucose test to determine the risk of gestational diabetes,
which was honestly not as bad as I thought it would be.
Let’s just say that I do not do well with needles,
but the awesome tech suggested I lay down, which helped immensely!
I got to drink this orange drink that was basically pure sugar,
then wait an hour to have my blood taken.
Luckily, I had some company thanks to Mr. Greg coming with me!

Yum!
Ha.

24 Weeks!

It’s hard to believe that back in March we were trying
to plan a cruise for the 4th of July weekend…
As we looked into it more, we found out that all cruise lines
do not let you set sail if you are 24 weeks pregnant.
Just my luck, right, 24 weeks to the day.
But 24 weeks seemed so far away and here we are already!

I am still feeling pretty good and
have definitely grown quite a bit over the past two weeks.
I actually feel like it happened within a two to three day period,
I literally just “popped out”.
I’ve also realized that this hardening feeling I’ve been having
for the past few weeks is probably Braxton Hicks contractions.
They don’t come often, but it’s sure obvious when they do.

She’s been moving around in there like crazy,
and Greg has been able to feel her kick a few times.
She is as long as an ear of corn which is about a foot!
It’s getting pretty hot here, so that’s not as fun,
but I know it’s going to get worse, so I’m trying
to keep the complaining to a minimum.

Hope everyone has a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

22 Weeks!

Greetings from Hartford, Connecticut!

Baby girl G and I have been here since Tuesday for a
work conference focusing solely on sport clubs…
It was great, but I’m ready to get back to sunny Orlando.

Baby G is as long as a spaghetti squash (whatever that is!)
and she is starting to look more and more like an actual baby
(so I’ve read…).

I am getting bigger and bigger every day…
when I wake up each morning I feel like
I’m SO MUCH bigger than the day before…
even though I probably am not.

At my 21 week appointment last Friday, I was measuring at 22 weeks,
which is normal, but I’ve still been watching what
I’ve been eating more this week.
My mom swears that they were right when
they said my initial due date was Oct. 13th… so we shall see!

Sleeping has been getting slightly more difficult,
so it’s a toss up how each night will be.
However, I’m feeling really good and enjoying the second trimester!
