Friday I’m in Love

Happy Friday! I’ve been slacking on my Friday loves, so I have a lot to catch up on. Let’s get to it.

o n e

When we saw Trolls in the theater, we got to see the preview for the new Lego Batman movie. We’ve since watched the trailer several times and are all so excited to see it in February. There are 20 minifigures that go with the movie, which are all so cute. I am pretty sure vacation Batman is my favorite. Speaking of Batman, the kids love to sing the Batman version of Jingle Bells, so I was excited to find this free Batman smells printable from recipe for crazy to go with our Christmas decor.

I picked up a couple pairs of the new Old Navy Pixie Chino pants and I love them! I think I have previously shared my love for the Old Navy Pixie pants, but I like the chinos even more. They are not as tight or stretchy as the regular pixie and they are great for work. I have Gray Stone and Cool Sage Green.

Michelle and I frequently discuss how we are still so emotionally involved with Grey’s Anatomy. I know a lot of people don’t watch it anymore, but I just can’t seem to quit it. She sent me this article and it made me want to go back at watch every single one of these heart wrenching episodes. Why do I love this show so much?!

I have been doing majority of my Christmas shopping online and I am loving Ebates! I know I’ve mentioned this one before too, but if you haven’t signed up for Ebates, you are missing out. You get cash back for shopping online. It’s seriously that simple. I use the handy Google Chrome extension so it reminds me to activate my Ebates when I’m shopping.

f i v e

Of course, I am loving all things Christmas right now! We’ve had so much fun with our advent calendar activities, including building a gingerbread house and making reindeer chow this week. The kids also have the Lego City and Lego Friends advent calendars, so they have loved building Legos each morning. We are looking forward to more Christmas fun the next few weeks!

Don’t forget to check out what Misha is loving this week. What are you loving?!

Friday I’m in Love

Happy Friday! It’s been a while since I’ve shared what I have been loving. My apologies. Life has been insanely busy! Let’s get started…

o n e

It is the MOST wonderful time of the year! I ordered our Christmas cards in early November, but they have been sitting on our dining room table for weeks. I finally broke them out this week (when I should have been writing my paper, of course) to address them. Greg and I had a nice assembly line going. I was in charge of addressing and he was in charge of stamping. Addressing was a little more fun this year thanks to my sweet little Lettermate. It really does help you write in a straight line! I am anxious to practice with it some more and maybe get a little bit more fancy next year….we’ll see. Ha!

I was not as impressed with my Black Friday, Cyber Monday shopping as I have been in the past, but I did manage to stock up on some more Replay dishes, including the flat plates which we hadn’t ordered yet. These were the Anna and Elsa inspired sets that were only available that weekend and ended up selling out. I love the colors and am so excited to start using the flat plates for the kids. We absolutely LOVE these dishes and don’t use anything else!

Ya’ll… Fixer Upper is back for it’s third season and I am in love! It has been quiet the anticipated comeback for the show, so we are happy it is finally here. I came across the article: 49 Thoughts You Have Every Time You Watch HGTV’s “Fixer Upper” and they are spot on. Seriously, when are Chip and Jojo going to adopt me?!

f o u r

We are in full on Christmas mode in our house. Sprinkles (the elf) is back and is moving about the house while the kids are sleeping and our advent calendar is filled with fun activities for the month. I shared our list of activities over on Orlando Moms Blog this week if you want to check them out. We also hit up Santa a few weeks ago and I was pleased with the picture. I may be biased, but I think we have the best Santa in the country. Kenley told Santa she wants Christmas pajamas for Christmas. She’s easy to please!

Happy Friday and happy October!!

o n e

I will just jump right in and start gushing about how much I love October and how it is my favorite month of the year. If you don’t know, it’s my birthday month!! Of course, I was thrilled to find out when I met Greg (way back in 2006) that his birthday is only four days before mine — yay birthday week for us!! Fast forward to present time and I have since birthed two kiddos in the month of October so, it is officially birthday month for the Gilbos and we already have a jam-packed month of exciting things happening!

t w o

With all the fun that October brings, it also brings a cause that is near and dear to my heart – Breast Cancer Awareness month. During my undergrad years as a Zeta Tau Alpha, each fall we held our annual philanthropy event Big Man On Campus (BMOC) to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research. It was an amazing event and one that is still going strong today.

On that same note, it’s time for A Crucial Catch with the NFL! I loved seeing all of the pink gear last night during the Thursday Night Football game and I am excited to see it the rest of the month. If you’re going to an NFL game this month, be on the lookout for members of ZTA handing out pink ribbons!

Friday I’m in Love

Happy Friday! Where in the world did this week go?
I’ve got a lot to love on this week, so let’s get the party started.

o n e

I was provided with the opportunity to try some of the Fruttare Fruit Bars and since it’s about a million degrees here in Florida, I jumped at the chance. I picked up a box of the mango, strawberry & milk, and coconut & milk at Target and these little guys did not disappoint. My favorite is the coconut & milk… shocking, I know. I just love all things coconut and these are really refreshing. The next flavor on my list to try is the pineapple!

You can learn more about Fruttare on their website, Twitter, Facebook, or Instagram.
Check them out!

You may have seen that I was in one of my favorite cities this past weekend… CHICAGO! I love visiting the city and am still checking off new places to visit each time I go. This time I made it to Water Tower Place and we went through Wrigleyville while we were on the trolley. Of course, seeing my friends too helped make the experience that much more enjoyable.

This summer, Greg and I have been watching Wayward Pines. It actually ended last night but I highly recommend if you are able to watch the series, do it! It is SO good and it’s one of the few shows that we actually watched on the night it aired. Bonus: our other shows this summer are also Suits (LOVE!) and Extant.

While in Chicago, I was able to hang out with my trendy friend who informed me that backpacks are in. So, of course, I’ve been shopping for backpacks. There are several from Nordstrom that are adorable, but are a little out of my price range, however the Herschel Supply Co. Dawson Backpack may be the front runner. What do you think?

10 Processed Foods to Never Feed Your Kids

This article popped up in a mommy group this week and it was pretty eye opening. I will admit we regularly have goldfish crackers in our house, but now I am going to make a point to buy the Annie’s brand crackers now. I am happy to see that Chipotle is listed as a good alternative since that is pretty much the only fast food establishment we frequent with the kids.

On Wednesday, a group of eight ladies got together for Craft Night 2.0 at Sally’s house. This was our second craft night this year (hence the 2.0). I brought over my Cricut machine and we all monogrammed our own tumbler. It was a fun craft, but it was more fun chatting with these ladies. We are all somehow intertwined through our various circles – friends, coworkers, church, mommy groups, etc. so it was great meeting new faces and catching up with old friends. Not to mention, Sally made some killer brownies. It’s nice to be able to get out for some good, adult conversation on a random Wednesday night.

My mom got these boots for Kenley for Christmas and I get compliments on them ALL the time! We love them. Kenley chooses to wear them almost everyday and they are still in great condition. I have not had the same luck with Old Navy boots, so I will be shopping the Target selection from now on.

Newsroom is back for its third and final season…so very bittersweet, but we are back to being obsessed. Season three picked up with the bombings at the Boston Marathon. It was crazy reliving the whole thing again and I have to say that I did get a little emotional. The show is seriously amazing.

t w o

Greg and I had a date night this week! We try to get out just the two of us once a month, but that rarely happens. This week we got tickets to the Magic game against the Clippers. Our tickets were in the all you can eat/drink section, so it really couldn’t get any better. I sported my Victor Oladipo shirt and the Orlando Magic Twitter account retweeted one of my tweets. It was a good night! Afterwards we met some friends out downtown and had a celebratory birthday drink before heading home and crawling into bed by 11pm.

Amazon Lightning Deals are my jam right now. I’ve scored several Christmas gifts for the kids including one of their big ticket items at a ridiculous price. Greg and I are still talking about how great of deal we got. The only caveat is that there are a limited number of deals available per item so you have to scope out the upcoming deals and act fast when they go live. I may have an alarm set on my phone labeled “Amazon Lightning Deal”.

f o u r

One of the perks of living in central Florida is that friends sometimes visit on vacation. We had a chance to meet up with Megan and her family last night at Downtown Disney for dinner and it was so great to catch up with her AND meet her fellas.

Ok friends, your turn! What are you loving this week?

Friday I’m in Love

Hi guys! Remember me? I had every intention to hit publish on a couple posts this week, but now it’s already Friday and I didn’t do that. The good news… it’s Friday and I’m here to share what I’m loving this week. Don’t forget to hop over to see what these lovely ladies are loving too: Misha // Mary Beth // Amanda.

I got to attend my second Babies, Brunch, and Bubbly this week. Better yet, I got to host one! I had the day off on Tuesday in observance of Veterans Day, so I invited the mamas and their babies over to play. Again, I was without kids since they were in school, but it was still fun having the girls over. I made these Spinach Quiche Cups and they were SO good!

A polaroid of Swift with shoulder-length blonde hair wearing red lipstick and a long-sleeved sweater with a picture of birds in the sky. Her face is cut off by the frame above the nose and "T. S." and "1989" are written on the white polaroid frame with black marker.

1989.
I know I’m a couple weeks late on this, but I’ve been listening to 1989 nonstop. My current faves are Blank Space and I Wish You Would. I’m sure it’ll be different next week.

I am determined to stay ahead of my Christmas shopping this year, unlike last year (I blame having a newborn. That’s acceptable, right?). I printed this great shopping list so I can keep track of what I need to get, and more importantly, not miss out on any deals!

f o u r

While we’re talking about deals…if you plan to do any Christmas shopping online this year, you MUST sign up for Ebates. This is FREE money ya’ll! Here is another tip, if you use Google Chrome as your browser, download this extension so Ebates will automatically look for cash back options for you.

‘Tis the season for a full DVR, fall shows are back! We just finished a couple summer shows, so we are ready for the good stuff to come back. I think I am most excited for the final season of Parenthood (yes, my tissues are ready). Everyone always asks why I watch a show that makes me cry (almost) every week, but it’s just so relate-able! What shows are you looking forward to?

Old Navy is killing it with their fall line of toddler clothes. Look at these boots, and the line of little leopards. Love it! Not to mention, how comfy does this hoodie look? Old Navy is having a huge baby/toddler sale too, so don’t say I didn’t warn you.
