i met the girls early on saturday morning for a chatty eight mile run.

we followed it up with piyo at the y.

this boy needed a haircut in the worst way. what a difference a fresh cut makes! side note, he hit the turf head first on the playground on friday, thus the turf burn on his forehead

we hit up the park on saturday afternoon to meet some of crosby’s friends. crosby insisted on playing in the water but soon got out because he was “freezing”.

so happy to see his friends outside of school.

greg and i got out of the house on saturday for a shopping and dinner date.

after church, we celebrated caleb’s 5th birthday!

a late afternoon bike ride to enjoy the amazing weather.

we had a crazy busy weekend and it’s not slowing down any time soon.

beautiful saturday morning on campus. not a cloud in the sky.

maggi (gg) came to visit for the weekend!

this boy absolutely loved the splash pad.

she enjoyed the splash pad for about ten minutes but had a lot more fun playing at the park.

after a very late night watching basketball and very little sleep, i headed out for six miles this morning. we ran on a new trail which was pretty, but the run was painful. my right calf needs some nursing this week before my race next weekend.

after some shopping and basketball, we hit up tijuana flats for dinner. oh and meemaw joined us here in florida too!

we had such a fun weekend and are so thankful that gg came to visit. we are looking forward to a fun week ahead with meemaw and grandpa and the kids are looking forward to a fun spring break.

i got to meet miss molly on friday after work.
she was so sweet and snuggly. my arm was feeling it later that night.
i swear it wasn’t that long ago i had a sweet little newborn that size.

crosby thought something was funny.

meal planning for the week during nap time.

splash pad time! pure joy.

luckily for the girls (and for the mommies) kona ice was there
so we treated ourselves to some “ice cones” as kenley would say.

cutest box. everything on the inside was amazing too.

she was playing mommy to her baby all day. even when it was time to get going!

we celebrated wyatt’s first birthday today!

when did this girl get so old?

i started a little project this weekend, picture to come!

saturday was a perfect day for a trip to the splash pad.

crosby had a great time splashing around.

he’s a standing machine.

unfortunately, our splash pad trip ended early on the account of two scraped knees and a scraped elbow,
but it was nothing jeremiah’s italian ice couldn’t fix!

we hit up the orlando science center today. way cool and we’ll definitely be back.

five boxes of happiness arrived on friday. all on sale of course.

nothing says summer like popsicles at the splash pad!

we hoped our busy saturday meant for a good night of sleep, but that was not the case.
it was quite the opposite for a restless toddler.
sunday morning coffee was a must.

first time riding two deep in the shopping cart.

homemade smoothies after a super long sunday nap.
while we would have loved to nap too, we did get a ton done around the house.

we may be smiling, but it was a rough couple of hours before it was bedtime on friday.
lots of whining and fussing happening.

we had some pretty good storms on saturday. even better that one happened while both kiddos were napping.

friday, we hit up the new wawa near work for some lunch.
as a midwesterner turned floridian, i often questioned my east coast friends to why they eat at a gas station,
but i am now a true believer. it was damn good.

after some housework on saturday, i got myself a pedicure.
as i got pampered, i caught up on blogs & pinterest.
it. was. glorious.

saturday night included watching the pacers beat the heat
and his + hers ice cream.
mine = mint chocolate chip, his = chocolate chip.

we hit up the splash pad early sunday morning.
the girls were iffy about it. they loved it when the water was low,
and hated it when the water was high.
oh the troubles of a toddler.

they enjoyed playing in the tunnel a lot more.

and going down the slide.

after nap time, we hit up tijuana flats for lunch.
the girl loved her quesadilla and chips. just like her momma and daddy.

we tackled some painting tonight…need i say more?

we had a good and slightly productive weekend,
but i’m going to keep it real here and say that after this weekend,
we are never refinishing another piece of furniture again,
and i’m about 2.5 seconds away from hiring painters for the remaining rooms in our house…
which is a lot.
if only my husband would let me.

greg met his bro up in the dc area this weekend to visit the fam.
the gilbertson men reunited.

saturday morning, kenley and i really tried hard to make it downtown in time for the march of dimes walk,
but since they decided to start early we just missed the start.
regardless, we represented jack’s pack while the fam was walking back in indiana.
we had our own little walk around lake eola and played at the park,
we weren’t going to let the beautiful morning go to waste.

first nap in the big girl bed looked like this.
she fell asleep as soon as she got back into bed, thankfully.

greg and the boys hit up the nationals / reds game at nationals park.

we hit up the splash pad for the first time this summer,
and kenley loved it. i foresee a lot of splash pad in our future.

having fun in the wa-wa

i saw on pinterest this week to put tea bags into your toms to make them less stinky.
the pin didn’t have a link attached to it, so i was skeptical, but let me tell you…
worked like a charm! i’ve worn a hole in my toms i’ve worn them so much and
they now don’t smell at all…other than a little like apple cinnamon tea.

we had a good weekend, but we are happy to have daddy home.
but, he had a wonderful time with the fam.
