Friday I’m in Love

Happy Friday! It’s February and love is in the air. Let’s get to what I’m loving this week.

o n e

The kids had themed dress-up days at school this week for spirit week. We all loved it! I was always totally into spirit days growing up, but I have to say it’s just as fun dressing the kids up. This week they had team spirit day, tacky tourist day, Marvel vs. DC day, career day, and pajama day. In all of my years of spirit days, I had never done tacky tourist day and it was my favorite day this week. Greg made them both a sweet camera which they both carried with them all day. I posted the rest of their outfits on Instagram, so you can check them out.

Sunday was the Superbowl and while I have no interest in talking about the actual game, I will talk about the halftime show. Lady Gaga was on point. If you haven’t seen her performance, you can watch it all here. I am also stoked that she announced her tour dates the following day AND is performing along side Metallica on Sunday at the Grammy’s. That’s a match made in heaven if you ask me (and Greg).

t h r e e

Greg has really gotten into the show Hunted, therefore, I have also gotten into it. It’s really interesting and I find myself learning something new each episode.

f o u r

Podcast update: the kids have been loving this Disney Story Central podcast I found from Denaye at Simple Families. The episodes are short so they are perfect for the ride to school in the morning. I am really into podcasts right now, so share your favorites with me! I recently cancelled my Sirius/XM subscription in my car because between podcasts and Spotify, I didn’t feel like I was listening to it enough to justify the price.

Happy February!

I picked up a couple Raw Threads headbands at the expo last weekend and wore one during my race on Sunday. I have proceeded to wear one every single day since then. They are amazing! So comfy and cute.

As we go into Super Bowl weekend, I have to share an amazing article from the Indy Star –  In appreciation of Peyton Manning — Go Broncos!

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching and I have to admit I’ve had our house decorated since I took the Christmas decorations down, so we are in the spirit! This week, I shared our Candy-Free Valentines over on Orlando Moms Blog. Go check them out!

I have been in love with Amazon Prime for many years now. If I can get it shipped to my house, I will. This article finally gave me the nudge I needed to start using Prime Photos this week. I uploaded all of the photos from my phone which I had been meaning to do for such a long time. Score!

The winter season of Suits is back!! Last week our cable was out, so we had to catch up this week before we saw any spoilers. If you haven’t started this show, you must! It’s so good!

There were several Superbowl commercials that I loved, but this one was by far my favorite:

Greg’s favorite was this one:

I don’t know how we just found about the show Fixer Upper, but we did and we’re loving it. Greg thinks Chip is hilarious and I just love anything and everything HGTV related. If you haven’t seen it then definitely give it a shot!

t h r e e

Did you see that Harper Lee is going to be publishing her second book in July?! I definitely will be reading To Kill A Mockingbird again before July because it has been quite a while since high school.

I tried my first Starbucks Flat White (with added vanilla) yesterday and it was delicious! The Flat White is steamed milk over ristretto shots of espresso. Yum.

Your turn! What are you loving this week?

Untitled

the weekend started thursday night with haircuts for everyone. and crosby aged five years.

Untitled

i ran the lady track shack 5k on saturday morning. it was cold. more details to come.

after my race, we took the kids to the school parking lot to let them drive their cars.

here is a glimpse of crosby’s senior pictures in 18 years.

it was hilarious watching them drive around.

after nap time, i took the kids down to the science center to meet ben & molly for a play date. it was super fun.

after church, we headed to bj’s. kenley asked for a picture. crosby clearly wasn’t thrilled about it.

we took advantage of a beautiful day and headed out for a bike ride!

our playground just got new sunshades and we are so happy about them!

Untitled

due to a no nap day for kenley, both kids were asleep by 7pm and greg and i were parked on the couch for the superbowl. even though we weren’t attending a party, we still ate appetizers for dinner. and it was awesome.

I was anticipating this commercial all night on Sunday due to the fact it was filmed in Winter Park.
Through my teary eyes, I was frantically searching for my friend Sally & her kids who were at the parade.
I watched the extended version on Monday and again, couldn’t fight back the tears.
This was by far my Superbowl favorite commercial. Bravo Budweiser!

t w o

Hoo-Hoo-Hoo-Hoosiers!
The Superbowl may have been less than impressive,
but the Hoosiers got a huge win on Sunday by knocking off #10 Michigan at home,
just a couple weeks after beating #3 Wisconsin.
We’ll just ignore the fact that they failed to show up against Northwestern…at home.

t h r e e

#sharktanktuesdays on CNBC!
We love Shark Tank but just recently started watching it,
so we look forward to catching up on past seasons on Tuesdays.
Plus it means we aren’t channel surfing…all…night…long.

ready for the big game!

image

this was the first year in a long time we didn’t have a superbowl party,
but hanging out just the two of us watching the game and commercials was just what we needed.
unfortunately, it wasn’t as good of a game as we would have liked.

of course, the weekend went by way too fast, but it was a productive one.
