Our Story

Hi, we’re the Gilbertson family.

Our story started in summer of 2006 when a New York native and a homegrown Hoosier met in Indiana. We spent the summer working tirelessly in baseball and eating Chiptole burritos. One year later, we were planning a wedding, and preparing to move to sunny Florida. We purchased our first home in January 2008 and headed back to the place we met to tie the knot on July 5th.

In early 2011, we found out we were expanding to a family of three. Kenley Dee was born on October 19th, 2011. We moved into our second, and more permanent home in November 2012. Not long after that, we were surprised to find out we had another one on the way! Crosby Martin arrived on October 27th, 2013. All four of us have October birthdays, which makes that month our favorite every year.

We originally created this blog to document our life behind our new camera. It has then evolved into a little bit of everything from learning how to be parents, DIY, traveling, to just having fun.

  1. Hi there, I came across your blog while looking for a blue bob stroller….I am getting one from a Craigslist person too. I love the photos of your little gal….ours was born super early but is now 8lbs! I know all babies tend to look similar but our girls have some similarities (nasal cannulas aside)! http://www.flickr.com/photos/martharb. Thanks for sharing your motherhood experiences!!

  2. Hello! So many things to comment on! We share so many similarities..my husband and I are a NY/Hoosier combo as well, I love to craft, run and, as you said, make our house a home! I am so new to the blogging scene but I am going to figure out how to join in on your Friday I’m in Love posts. Beautiful blog!
